The media are the biggest cry-bullies there are. They are wailing because Google is going to walk if they end up being taxed to protect failing media companies.
You have to love the mainstream media. They have a moribund business model so they lobby the government, and ignore the irony of them campaigning against lobbyists, to bully Google and other social media companies into paying a tax for essentially providing a link to the media’s content.
Then when Google turns around and says get stuffed, the same media who were calling for the bullying of Google then turn around and claim Google is bullying them.
The use of alternative payment methods during periods of conflict is not new. But the direction is becoming clearer. When trust erodes, systems do not collapse overnight, they morph and adapt. Quietly at first and then all at once.
