Jacinda Ardern Is No Boy Scout

Nervous Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards says he “has never been more prepared” for Hurricane Ida, with some $14 billion of Federal funds spent strengthening levees, since Hurricane Katrina in 2005 when almost 2,000 people lost their lives.

The same can’t be said for New Zealand’s Prime Minister Ardern as she tries to spin her way out of a fast-growing crisis borne out of a porous border and not enough vaccines for a now over-eager population faced with a delta outbreak.

After much soul searching back in September 2020 she and her learned colleagues decided $50 million extra was too great a price to pay to ensure vaccine supply. Their economy drive has resulted in her being understocked with vaccines a year later. She denies this but there is too much evidence to the contrary, and her propensity to mislead has become legendary.

They got their priorities wrong whilst distracted with more urgent issues like funding a criminal gang, passing ‘social justice’ legislation and making expensive, misleading advertisements to overhaul water reform (whilst bribing mayors to comply); insulting and enraging many.

Their decisions are not evidence-based but reactive and emotionally driven. Their main priority of keeping this nation free of Covid slipped their mind.

Apparently, we didn’t order the vaccine until 29 January. Lack of supply has contributed to the country running up a bill of $1.5 billion a week with our latest level 4 lockdown, as with vaccine levels at around 20%, the public were not fortified against the virus.

Also problematic is their broad brush (one size fits all) approach to rules which has many gobsmacked and some caught short. Truck drivers have been unable to use toilets on their long-haul trips as Jacinda has decreed they all be locked. Cruel, senseless and thoughtless.

This tone-deaf government doesn’t listen. The pleas for asylum months ago from a NZDF’s Afghani interpreter, now stuck in a terrorist-ridden country with some 36 of his colleagues and facing almost certain death, were ignored.

Meanwhile, the Sistema factory in which staff have had the infection was open in Level 4. Is it really an essential service to keep the ‘Tupperware’ flowing?

And, if so, why can’t butchers open, but some Halal butchers can? Aren’t all butchers (and fruit shops), an essential service, like supermarkets? One butcher got publicly threatened by our ‘kind’, but actually tyrannical PM, whose actions caused his dire situation in the first place.

However, she is prepared to make a major concession for her sermons from the pulpit of truth, allowing at least 20 or more journalists, technicians etc in the theatrette, but restricting the debating chamber to 10! Speaker Trevor Mallard has gone full retard to prevent the Opposition from getting any accountability.

Hell will freeze over before this insecure PM would allow anyone to question her in a zoom Epidemic Response Committee type forum chaired by the leader of the Opposition. She might have to answer some hard questions.

With this watered-down version, she will have the usual protection of Mallard against the nasty, vicious, racist Opposition, ACT and the Greens.

ACT’s David Seymour would have us believe that he achieved this single-handed. However, Judith Collins has been advocating strongly for some kind of accountability, preferably ERC. She is not a performing flea like David who, despite his cleverness, can be such a show-off.

The Maori Party have thrown a wobbly and refused to appear, like the Texas Democrats who fled to Washington to avoid taking part in some election legislation. But of course, they will still be paid for not doing their job.

It’s different when the left does it.
