Just Those ‘Good Muslims’ Obviously

Islamic gangs are targeting gay men in Sydney for vicious bashings.

Are these the ‘good Muslims’ we’re constantly finger-wagged about? Or maybe just a branch meeting of ‘Queers for Palestine’?

Whatever it is, you can almost hear the sound of teeth being pulled as ABC journalists are dragged, kicking and screaming, into using the ‘I’ word in relation to vicious crimes in Australia.

James*, 16, screams as a pack of black-clad teenagers drag him to the ground and stomp on his head while an attacker films on his phone in Sydney’s Strathfield Park.

In another video, the gang forces a different 16-year-old into a toilet block and repeatedly punches him while calling him a “f*****” and a “kaffir”, or nonbeliever. Blood runs down his face as he begs, “I’ll do anything.”

A third clip shows a boy in a cropped top lying silent on the grass, his hands shielding his face as he is repeatedly stomped on and called a “gay dog”, while one attacker shouts “Dawlatul Islam” – Arabic for Islamic State (IS).

Why does this surprise anyone? Islam is violently and virulently homophobic. Yet, it gets a continual free pass from the same people who screeched in unhinged fury and ended the career of Izzy Folau, simply for including homosexuals in a long list of sinners. Compare that to the conspiracy of silence around deadly violent Islamic homophobia.

Even when forced to acknowledge a culture of violent homophobia in Sydney’s Muslim community, the ABC tries to play the deceitful gambit of trying to pretend ‘it’s not “real” Islam’ by repeatedly emphasising the “Islamic State” links, which ignores the simple fact that the Islamic State is, as a respected scholar put it, “very Islamic”.

And homophobia is not ‘fringe extremism’ amongst Western Muslims: it’s very, very mainstream. A survey of European Muslims found that 60 per cent will not be friends with homosexual people. The majority of British Muslims want homosexuality made illegal. A global map of countries where homosexuality is illegal shows that, with a few exceptions, they are concentrated in Islamic countries. All countries where homosexuality is punishable by death are Islamic countries.

But the ABC would have us believe that all of this isn’t real – that it’s somehow just an aberration.

The footage is among recordings played in Sydney courts or circulated in chat groups, and obtained by ABC Investigations from court files, victims and members of the public.

It documents a surge of violence against gay and bisexual young people in Sydney at the hands of a resurgent IS terrorist network in the two years before the Bondi attack.

It goes much further than that. This ‘resurgent IS terrorist network’ is, in fact, at the heart of Sydney’s Muslim suburbs.

Five teenagers have so far been convicted over the bashings.

Several of them congregated around a radical Bankstown prayer hall, Al Madina Dawah Centre, which was ordered to close after the Bondi shooting.

Police evidence connected members of the group to two of Australia’s most influential pro-IS figures: spiritual leader Wisam Haddad and alleged youth recruiter Wassim Fayad.

The centre was ordered closed after its leader was found to have racially vilified Jews. It took an ‘infidel’ court order to do so: the ‘good Muslims’ were apparently content to let it be a fountain of hate and terrorism for years. In any case, its spittle-flecked hate is indistinguishable from the sort of stuff preached at Australia’s biggest mosque, just 10 minutes down the road. In 2023, for instance, Sheikh Ahmed Zoud preached that Jews are ‘criminals, terrorists and monsters’ during a sermon at the mosque where thousands of Sydney’s ‘good Muslims’ attend every week.

Tellingly, taking a cue from the monsters who perpetrated the October 7 attacks, these troglodytes proudly filmed their violent extremism to share among an eager online audience of their fellow Muslims.

Nathan said police told him the 17-year-old shared the video on social media […]

Another video, leaked to the ABC from the same chat group, shows a bloodied victim held in a headlock as attackers yell “Islamic State lives”, hurl homophobic abuse, demand money and bay for his killing.

This is all part of a global pattern across Western countries, where Muslim gangs are using dating and hookup apps to lure gay men into traps to be bashed and murdered. The Muslim who murdered 49 people at a gay nightclub in Florida also used such apps to facilitate his vicious homophobia.

Yet, predictably, the legacy media twist themselves into the most astonishing semantic contortions to try and deny the obvious. In the case of the Orlando massacre, the media bizarrely claimed that the modus operandi proved the terrorist was ‘really’ a homosexual.

Then we get this weird deflection from the ABC.

The bashings were among scores of attacks since 2023 on LGBTQIA+ people across Australia, who were lured on dating apps and bashed on camera by young people radicalised by a mix of extremist influences, from jihadism to the far right.

Even though…

Victoria Police told the ABC no link had been established in that state with terrorist organisations or neo-Nazi groups.

What will it take for the ABC to just admit it?
