The results are already in for the Trump crackdown on violent crime in the nation’s capital. And, boy, aren’t the left mad. Mostly, we suspect, because he’s showing them up. When California Democrat Eric Swalwell said that “Trump owns this”, referring to the crackdown, he probably didn’t expect his words to hit him right in the face so soon and so hard.
For the first time in months, Washington, DC has gone seven consecutive days without a homicide following President Donald Trump’s federal takeover of the city’s police force and deployment of the National Guard.
The rare streak, confirmed Wednesday, comes during the summer season when homicide levels are typically at their highest. The last time the capital reported zero killings for a full week was in March.
Other crimes have also dropped sharply, according to figures cited by the local police union. Robbery declined by 46 per cent in the week after federal control began, carjackings fell 83 per cent, and overall violent crime was down 22 per cent.
And the law-abiding citizens of DC just keep winning.
Arrests under President Donald Trump’s federal crime crackdown in Washington, DC, have blown past 1,000 as the nation’s capital marked its 12th consecutive day without a homicide, US Attorney Jeanine Pirro announced Monday.
Pirro said that on Sunday alone there were 86 arrests and 10 illegal guns seized, bringing the totals to 1,007 arrests and 111 guns taken off the streets.
How is that possible? DC has strict gun laws and multiple gun-free zones. Surely that would have got rid of all the nasty guns?
So, rule-of-thumb, Americans: if you want to live in a safe city, elect a Republican.

The MAGA side argues that swift, aggressive policing is what was needed to curb DC’s rising violence, with over 400 already having already been arrested. Detractors warn that the methods revive controversial “broken windows” strategies and mirror policies from the 1990s that later faced political backlash.
And how has that ‘political backlash’ worked out for them? They’re talking, of course, about Democrat ‘defund the police’ policies. How well those have worked can be judged by the fact that, of the 20 most violent cities in America, 19 are run by Democrats.
Trump is also targeting another Democrat policy that has directly led to spiralling crime.
Trump on Monday signed an executive order targeting Washington, DC that instructs police to charge suspects with federal crimes and hold them in federal custody to avoid cashless bail.
The president also signed an executive order that seeks to end cashless bail by threatening to revoke federal funding from jurisdictions that use it.
In fact, Trump is showing up the left so badly that they’re screaming blue murder.
A throng of protesters chanted slogans as Vice President JD Vance thanked National Guard and police at Union Station in Washington, DC on Wednesday.
Vance praised law enforcement and said that violent crime had dropped by 35 per cent in the nine days since President Donald Trump ordered the crackdown. The vice president appeared alongside Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller, each of whom remarked on the shouting protesters.
Vance and Miller were having none of their bullshit.
“I think you hear these guys outside here screaming at us. Of course, these are a bunch of crazy protesters. But I’ll tell you, a couple of years ago, when I brought my kids here, they were screamed at by violent vagrants. And it scared the hell out of my kids,” Vance said.
“I know that we’ve traded now, some violent, crazy people who are screaming at kids with a few crazy liberals who are screaming at the vice president. But I think that’s a very worthwhile trade to make, because we want our people to be able to enjoy our beautiful cities,” Vance continued […]
“It is kind of bizarre we have a bunch of old, primarily white people who are out there protesting the policies that keep people safe when they have never felt danger in their entire lives,” the vice president added.
Miller was even more blunt, describing many of the protesters as “elderly” and “over 90 years old.”
“We’re not going to let communists destroy a great American city, let alone the nation’s capital,” Miller said, deriding the protesters as “stupid white hippies.”
