Ministry of Health Experts Strike Again

Fluoridation treats the water?

On 10 Feb 2025, Rotorua Lakes Council held a public session with officials from the Ministry of Health (dentist Dr Riana Clarke and Medical Officer of Health Dr Phil Shoemack) presenting on the topic of fluoridation. Councillors were able to ask questions. The Director General of Health at the time, Dr Diana Sarfati, did not attend herself, and there was no opportunity for the public to ask questions.

Cr Patterson asked about informed consent as described in the HDC Code of Rights and suggested there was no consent being given by those forced to consume water with fluoridation chemicals added.

Astonishingly, in response Dr Shoemack said water fluoridation was not treating individuals but rather treating the water!!!

Dr Phil Shoemack

Adding fluoride to water is not treatment of individuals, it’s treating the water.
– Dr Phil Shoemack

Really, Dr Shoemack? The fluoride is put in the water for the preventative treatment of human teeth. It is not treating the water to make it safe to drink.

We suspect that, thankfully, this nonsense from ‘government experts’ was clear to the councillors – some of whom heard proper information from US lawyer Michael Connett – which should only strengthen their resolve to protect themselves from the ‘poisoning with intent’ of their community.

Here’s another example of dogmatic edicts…

Another safe and effective – yeah right!

In light of this appalling disconnect from reality and almost sociopathic rationalisation, we are extremely grateful to the councils of Whangārei and Rotorua for pushing back against ministry doublespeak.

Fluoridation Workshop – 10 February 2025

Brace yourself folks: the ‘expert’ opinion @46 minutes will require a moment of serious mental recalibration. Are the New Zealand Ministry of Health experts really this deluded? No wonder trust in our country’s healthcare system is at an all-time low, with these muppets leading the helm of public health.

Choice vs Local Councils

While New Zealand First’s private member’s bill to put decisions about water fluoridation back into the hands of local councils would seem less tyrannical than coming from the MoH, the fact remains that water fluoridation is forced medical treatment. There still remains no choice.

The fact is, anyone can (and probably does albeit unknowingly) buy fluoridated toothpaste. It could be argued that if fluoride was to work to prevent cavities, then applying it directly to the teeth would be a more effective option than drinking it.  This at least gives New Zealanders a choice about what they put in their bodies.  Many areas around the world never have or are no longer fluoridating drinking water. Their citizens have a choice.

Whether or not the decision comes from central or local government, the fundamental right to decline a medical intervention remains.
