Let me take you back to September when the great Siouxsie Wiles was caught out breaking Level 4 lockdown rules by sitting on a beach with a friend, who then went swimming. In spite of there being a video of these very events, Wiles responded by warning people about ‘misinformation‘… as if, somehow, the person in the video was not really her and it was all about those mean, nasty right-wingers trying to put her down when actually, she had just been outed as a hypocrite of the tallest order.

There is that word. Misinformation.

On Tuesday night, the TV1 News reported on the Wellington protests, and what was the first word they used? You guessed it. Misinformation.

Thousands of people protesting government policies outside Parliament is ‘misinformation‘. TV1 News said it, so it must be true.

The word ‘misinformation‘ was originally used to describe theories going around the internet during the pandemic, particularly around vaccines. The media used the word to discredit anyone who was questioning the short development and testing time of the vaccines before they went into mass production, and berated anyone who asked what should be considered legitimate questions about its safety and side effects.

Misinformation.

But now that word is being used to describe anything that questions government policy. If you don’t want the vaccine, you are guilty of ‘misinformation‘.

But also, if you don’t want New Zealanders to be divided into one class and a sub-class, or if you disagree with the government’s ‘3 Waters’ policy, you don’t want to have to produce papers every time you go to a restaurant, or you want your freedoms back, you are now guilty of ‘misinformation‘… and that’s it.

The media are driving this. Every protest is dismissed as being caused by ‘anti-vaxxers’, like they are some kind of religious nutters, QAnon or anti-semites.

Or ‘white supremacists’. Don’t forget the white supremacists.

Funny how anti-semitism is something that is wheeled out whenever it suits the narrative. It’s perfectly fine for NZ politicians to openly support Palestine and denigrate Israel, but suggest that the government is behaving like the Nazis in creating ‘Untermenschen’ (which they are) and it is ‘anti-semitic’. No one ever sees the irony of these things, they are too busy peddling government propaganda… just like the media did under the Nazis.

History repeats. I’m sure it was ‘misinformation‘ back then too.

Don’t people have a right to ask questions? Why on earth should everyone just blindly roll up their sleeves and accept a largely untested vaccine the long term effects of which are completely unknown? Why is it ‘misinformation’ to ask such simple, reasonable questions?

The media are becoming worried about the backlash against their own people, particularly at protests, but the government shills dare not back down from their peddling of government propaganda. They are caught between a rock and a hard place. If they start telling the truth, they risk losing their share of the government largesse, but if they do not, they risk the wrath of the public. Either way, they are going down eventually.

In the meantime, think about this.

“Now I will tell you the answer to my question. It is this. The Party seeks power entirely for its own sake. We are not interested in the good of others; we are interested solely in power, pure power. What pure power means you will understand presently.

“We are different from the oligarchies of the past in that we know what we are doing. All the others, even those who resembled ourselves, were cowards and hypocrites. The German Nazis and the Russian Communists came very close to us in their methods, but they never had the courage to recognise their own motives. They pretended, perhaps they even believed, that they had seized power unwillingly and for a limited time, and that just around the corner there lay a paradise where human beings would be free and equal.

“We are not like that. We know that no one ever seizes power with the intention of relinquishing it. Power is not a means; it is an end. One does not establish a dictatorship in order to safeguard a revolution; one makes the revolution in order to establish the dictatorship. The object of persecution is persecution. The object of torture is torture. The object of power is power. Now you begin to understand me.”

George Orwell, 1984.

No, this is not a quote from an NZ government cabinet meeting. It probably could be though. They force their will on the people, who become agitated, and to bring the agitation to an end, they accuse them of ‘misinformation‘. In other words, you are wrong, the government is right.

“But if thought corrupts language, language can also corrupt thought.”

George Orwell, 1984.

And then, there’s this.

I’m sorry, Jacinda, but looking at the huge numbers in the crowd in Wellington, and considering the vaccination statistics that you constantly ram down our throats, a large number of those people at the Wellington protests must have been vaccinated. Most of them were not there to protest the vaccines. They were there to protect our freedoms, which you are rapidly taking away. After all, only last Monday, you made a Freudian slip in telling Aucklanders that next week, you will let them know “if” they can have Christmas. Yes. You actually said that.

Or is that just ‘misinformation‘ too? Can’t be if Jacinda said it.
