National Should Change Their Name to the Me Too Party

There is a reason why the Opposition in politics is called the Opposition. The clue is in the name, but it is a clue that seems to have escaped the notice of Christopher Luxon, the man who currently leads the National Party.

It seems that on almost every key policy area Christopher Luxon agrees with the Government. The latest is a policy that Labour has launched that would extend their reputation as the Party of the Nanny State, banning vape stores near schools.

And guess what: Christopher Luxon has come out and said ‘Me Too!’.

Labour’s new proposal to overhaul vaping laws is “broadly” supported by National, Christopher Luxon says.

Chris Hipkins, Labour’s leader, unveiled a significant vaping law reform proposal on Tuesday, which promised to cap the number of stores nationwide and ramp up penalties for those who sell to underage people if re-elected in October.

While National was largely in favour of the proposal, party leader Luxon said the crackdown could still go further.

“I just don’t think we’ve got the vape settings right and I think every leader of every political party in this Parliament would say exactly the same thing,” he told AM. “What I think we’re creating is a problem for decades to come where we’re hooking kids up to a new addiction.

“We’ve broadly supportive of what the Government announced yesterday and we’ve got to make sure we actually get those things implemented.”

Wrong answer, Christopher!

People want a change from this current mob, not a more efficient version of them. Stand for something: otherwise, you will fall for anything.

But it really is becoming glaringly obvious that Christopher Luxon may not be a Manchurian candidate, but he is almost certainly the ‘Me Too’ candidate.

On vaccines and the excess of the Ardern regime under Covid, he was in lockstep with the Government. The only differential would be that National would have locked us down and trampled on our rights and freedoms faster, harder and more efficiently, but they would have trampled on them nonetheless.

When it came to talking with protestors and hearing their grievances, he said ‘Me Too!’ after Trevor Mallard and Jacinda Ardern refused to engage.

Still there. Cartoon credit BoomSlang.

Just a couple of days ago he signalled that he agrees with the woke in letting men invade women’s spaces, saying ‘Me Too!’ and joining with Labour in condemning the stance of Winston Peters.

He’s backed the Government on Net Zero and Climate Change policies, ridiculing David Seymour in the process, and he’s agreeing with the woke Maori agenda and Treaty revisionism.

Voters want a change but the more the campaign goes on we are getting the message, loudly and clearly, that a vote for National is a vote for a continuation of the woke agenda, just a wee bit more efficiently, of the current Government.

Even on co-governance and associated policies like Three Waters, or whatever it is called now, he is extremely squishy. Supporters will claim Luxon has said he will repeal Three Waters, but that is just not accurate. He has clearly, and unequivocally said that he will “repeal and replace”. That dear readers, is not the same as repealing full stop. National is saying that they will “replace” it, but that it will not go back to the way it was.

If you think that by voting National you are voting for change, you are right in the loosest possible sense of the word, you will get a change from one set of globalist control freaks wearing red shirts to a new set of globalist control freaks wearing blue shirts.

If you truly want change, and someone to hold Luxon’s soaking wet socks to the fire then there is only two choices for you, to provide the steel up the spine of the wet, woke jellyfish-like persona of Christopher Luxon, and that is to vote either Act or NZ First.

Because if you are relying on National to effect real change, you are sadly deluded.
