Stumbled across this amazing little video on YouTube from PBS about Israel’s recent (well not so recent now) discovery of huge offshore natural gas reserves that could mean a profound transformation for Israel’s economy.
At 5.10 Tamar Zandberg, a member of the Knesset says the gas revenues should be used to address poverty. At 3.54 Lawson Freeman from Noble Energy says, “we’ve saved the country 17 million metric tonnes of CO2 emissions that the equivalent of taking all the cars in Israel off the roads for over a year”.
