Government propagandist and shill site Newshub has finally played catchup with The BFD on an important story regarding the Ardern regime’s Police lickspittles and their handmaidens at Immigration banning Avi Yemini for the high crimes of “the propensity … to agitate people with opposing views.”
An alert for border officials to intercept far-right Australian commentator Avi Yemini if he tried to travel to New Zealand was prompted by a media request to Immigration NZ, documents reveal.
The media inquiry on August 19 led to what one official called “online sleuthing” into the background of Yemini, who planned to fly to Wellington to attend an anti-government protest.
One official found a 2019 news article reporting the Australian had a conviction for assaulting his former wife, which the official noted meant he could be stopped from boarding a flight to New Zealand on character grounds.
An alert was then raised. It told border officials of Yemini’s conviction and to stop him from entering New Zealand if “there are no exceptional circumstances present”. It linked to the online news article.
It wasn’t until two days later, on August 21, that Interpol Wellington contacted its Canberra counterparts saying New Zealand Police wanted to stop Yemini and an associate from entering the country. It asked for any information showing Yemini as being of “bad character” or linked to criminal groups or far-right extremists.
Newshub
Newshub don’t seem at all concerned that this action was in fact illegal, both in the way Police used Interpol, but also in banning Avi Yemini for a “crime” that didn’t even meet the threshold stipulated in the Immigration Act for actually banning someone.
Worse still they say nothing about the actions of a media outlet, presumably the NZ Herald, instigating this profiling and subsequent witch-hunt against a journalist.
Not to mention that it appears that Newshub has been supplied with additional documents that were never supplied to either The BFD or Rebel News despite comprehensive OIA requests.
In summary, the mainstream media get Immigration to find an excuse not to let Avi Yemini in and somehow it’s not politically motivated? Really?
Canada uses these same tactics. The regime feeds a story to the bought and paid for media – same in Canada. Then use that story to shut down whatever, in this case, Avi Yemini. There is obviously some sort of handbook that these fascists like Trudeau and Ardern use.
It is amazing that even the media is trying to block freedom of the press. Talk about being blind to the obvious consequences.
One can only conclude that if a media organisation hadn’t gotten involved, Avi Yemini would have spent a few days in Wellington, got bored, and then gone home. No damage done. The mainstream media are showing their true colours. They want to be the sole vehicle “of truth”. Anyone who challenges their patch must be shut down. They are the biggest drivers of cancel culture.
Who is the biggest threat to democracy?
I wonder though how many media and politicians have tickets to the Chris Brown concert in December. Will Sarah from Immigration stop him from entering New Zealand?
This case is the best example of why it is so very important to build our own NewsDesk. The mainstream media are part of the Team of $55 MillionTM; we are truly independent and funded entirely by member donations and subscriptions.
Have you donated to the Free Speech Union? Are you wondering why they’ve remained utterly silent about this important free speech issue? Why don’t you support an organisation that actually cares about free speech?
Every little bit helps, and next year is election year. Help us fight the politicians and their handmaidens in the sheltered workshops of the mainstream media.
