I don’t know where to begin with this nincompoop who I can see is going to fast become the poster boy for 101 reasons why young list MPs are a bad idea.

Green Party MP Ricardo Menéndez March has suggested all MPs should be put in public housing rather than receiving an allowance, as the current system enables wealthier politicians to become property investors.
  1. There are huge waiting lists for public housing and the people who are on the waiting lists are not wealthy politicians paid 6 figure salaries.
  2. Giving wealthy MPs priority over the poor on housing lists so that they can virtue signal that they are living like poor people is clownworld.
  3. How does Ricardo, a single male living alone taking over a public housing flat that the poor and elderly are in desperate need of, make the Green Party look good?
  4. The idea doesn’t even achieve the goal he is claiming he wants it to achieve, as it won’t prevent MPs from purchasing investment properties.
Menéndez March says MPs should be stakeholders of quality public housing, not private capital.

“So many MPs enter the role either being or becoming multiple home owners by nature of the job,” he wrote on Twitter. “It is no wonder major parties protect the interests of wealthy property investors when so many benefit from the status quo.”

What this disastrous chapter in our history reveals is not only that the Labour Party can longer be trusted, but that tribal leaders have become increasingly deceptive and greedy in their relentless push to undermine democracy and grab power and public resources for themselves.
