With the sacking of CNN’s Brian Stelter, the post of Most Ludicrous Liar in the media is open to a wide field of contenders. An early front-runner might be MSNBC/PBS dribbling loon, Yamiche Alcindor. In a magnificent display of Long Trump Derangement Syndrome, Alcindor claims that yet another poll showing that a clear majority of Americans are worried about the direction the country is heading isn’t because of Joe Biden’s disastrous economy.
Oh, no: it’s because they’re afraid the Bad Orange Man might come back.
MSNBC contributor Yamiche Alcindor claimed during a Monday appearance that Americans think the country is on the “wrong track” due to fear of former President Donald Trump.
“On the Democratic side, people that are very, very worried about the direction of this country, they’re very worried especially about former President Trump possibly coming back into power or former President Trump or another Republican stealing the election in 2022 or 2024.”
That’s right: a Joe Biden apologist actually accused someone else of plotting to steal an election. Isn’t that kind of talk “insurrection”?
I mean, sure, there’s a whole bunch of other inconsequential stuff that people might, just might, be worried about…
“You’re also hearing a lot of anxiety, based on my reporting, about inflation and about gas prices because you have a lot of Republicans running around the state, around the country also, that are really saying this is going to be an economic situation that we’re not going to recover from and that President Biden is leading the country off of a cliff here,” Alcindor continued.
Get that? The economy’s not in the toilet at all: that’s just a bunch Republican-talk. Pay no attention to the inflation rate, which is north even of New Zealand’s.
The Consumer Price Index rose 8.5% year-over-year in July, according to data released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics Aug. 10, following increases of 9.1% year-over-year in June and 8.6% in May. The Bureau of Economic Analysis reported GDP declined 0.9% in the second quarter of 2022, following shrinkage of 1.4% in the first quarter.

If only there was a word for that… something starting with “R”, that isn’t “Republican”.
But, sure, convince us that Americans are quivering in fear of Trump, and not footling stuff like how Americans are going to afford to live.
Over the last six months, there has been one constant for most Americans: sticker shock.
From school supplies to groceries to gas, supply chain shortages have — at one point — brought unthinkable fears for many. Combine those fears with political infighting in Washington and you’ve got a perfect storm of dissatisfaction.
The numbers also give the lie to Alcindor’s ridiculous excuse-making.
A new NBC News poll shows just 21% of Americans believe the nation is headed in the right direction while 74% say it’s on the wrong track.

So, that means that even fewer people than approve of Joe Biden’s presidency have confidence in the direction of the country. Conversely, if we’re to believe Alcindor, not just Biden supporters but all of the Americans who support, not just the Republican party but Trump personally, are supposedly afraid of Trump’s possible return.
If you believe that, then you probably believe the legacy media.
