If you think the Greens are the biggest hypocrites in politics, that’s only because New Zealand is yet to be cursed with teals.
If you’re lucky enough not to have heard of them, the ‘teals’, the ‘blue-greens’: a gaggle of ultra-wealthy, so-called ‘independents’ (who just happen to all be funded by the same nepo baby billionaire svengali). They are what we used to call the ‘doctor’s wives’ set: wealthy women with nothing much else to do but busybody with ‘causes’.
And, boy, are they staggering hypocrites.
They scolded to ‘wear your mask’ during Covid – despite not wearing masks themselves. After all, masks are only for the help.
They shriek like fishwives about ‘climate action’ – even while they drive massive, luxury SUVs, and rack up inordinate taxpayer-funded frequent flyer miles in business class.
They demand massive wind turbines blanket the countryside – but not their exclusive harbourside enclaves. And they’re all for ‘social housing’ – just not anywhere near them.
Victorian teal MPs have strongly criticised key aspects of Premier Jacinta Allan’s plan for high-rise towers in Melbourne suburbs, with the federal member for Goldstein, Zoe Daniel, warning “crash or crash through” policies will not fix the housing crisis.
Three guesses where the Victorian government wants to build the high rises.
Just two days after Ms Allan triggered an angry community protest by announcing the controversial suburban towers plan in Brighton, which sits within Ms Daniel’s electorate, the teal MP said Labor’s plan did not “cut it”.
Of course not. High-rises are for poor suburbs. Certainly not in Melbourne’s equivalent of Mission Bay. I mean, imagine the smell of all those foreign types.
Opposition infrastructure spokeswoman Bridget McKenzie […] accused Teal MPs of being the “biggest NIMBYs in town” following opposition to high-rise plans mooted by the Victorian government.
“They don’t want transmission lines, wind towers, solar farms in their backyard, nor do they want to see their leafy suburbs, very affluent suburbs, make a contribution to the housing crisis,” she told ABC RN.
The teals, of course, are all for mass migration – those dusky little girls are cheap and don’t answer back, after all – and ‘refugees welcome’. Just not where they live.
Goldstein teal MP Zoe Daniel says she “absolutely” supports more housing construction in her electorate but says that construction needs to include infrastructure and consultation […]
“Where’s the childcare? Where are the schools? Where’s the healthcare? What are the transport impacts of that?”
Funny how she never gave a rat’s arse about any of that when millions of migrants and illegal immigrants were being crammed into the poor suburbs out West.
But then, if they weren’t raging snob hypocrites, they wouldn’t be teals.
