I have seen New Zealand when its possibilities seemed enormous, watched people build businesses and communities and experienced the consequences when governments make decisions that can take decades to unwind.
So when I look at today’s politics, I am not merely asking, “Which party do I prefer?” I’m asking something much bigger:
“Are we leaving the next generation a country capable of fulfilling its potential?”
A country that lets non-citizens vote in a general election is not being kind – it is being sloppy. Most countries do not do it.
