NZ’s ‘First Cab off the Rank’ Is ‘Not in a Race to Be First’

The BFD
“WHO has reported a 16% worldwide decline of new COVID-19 cases over the last week”. She continues, “This has been partly due to the rollout of the Coronavirus vaccines.”

The Week USA – Catherine Garcia – Feb 18 2021

Yet in New Zealand, we have reported seven new community cases: up from zero. So the country, which is the “envy of the world”, is trending negatively compared to the rest of the world. This is not a good look for Ardern and her cohorts after she told us “we were first cab off the rank” regarding our place in the queue for the delivery of the vaccine.

This week Bloomfield stated, “We’re not in a race to be first”, and so it appears the narrative has changed. Ardern is caught out again promoting her self glorification by delivering a statement that has been exposed as wrong and without foundation. From “The House of Cards”, “A gift of a good liar is making people believe you lack a talent for lying.”

The TRUTH is we only started yesterday when a select few commenced the programme: twelve thousand border workers over the next three weeks. A further TRUTH is that there are only sixty thousand doses available currently in the entire country for Ardern’s team of five million: 1.20% of the population.

An additional TRUTH is that the rest of the “team of five million” (98.8% of the population) might be lucky to be vaccinated before the year’s end.

The actual TRUTH is that we are behind the rest of the developed world by a country mile. Oh, by the way, as of yesterday 2.40% of the entire population of the world has been vaccinated (New York Times). A number double the result New Zealand hopes to reach in three weeks!

“On December 8, 2020, the United Kingdom became the first country in the world to start administrating its citizens with a fully trialled and tested COVID-19 vaccine.”

Aljazeera 2 February 2021.

Forty other countries also rolled out the vaccine programmes during Dec 2020 and, as at 18th Feb, seventy-eight countries had commenced the programme.

How many of us would wait at a taxi rank for the 79th taxi after being promised we would be in the first cab off the rank? How many of us would be happy if, by the time that cab arrived, it would only transport your beloved’s handbag to your destination? Yet yesterday, the MSM gushed itself into a frenzy about it being “A historical day for NZ”.

The TRUTH is, we were lied to.
