Online Leftists Are Inciting Violence

There is growing evidence that clandestine left-wing agents provocateur were at least partly responsible for the unrest at the US Capitol last week. If nothing else, the leftist and mainstream media (pardon the tautology) shrieking claims that President Trump “incited” the event simply doesn’t stand up to scrutiny. On the other hand, Trump’s opponents were quite clearly up to their necks in the shenanigans.

A thorough reading of Trump’s speech in Washington does not bear out in the least claims of “incitement”. Not only was Trump’s language far less incendiary than, say, Barack Obama, who in 2008, exhorted supporters in Philadelphia that “folks in Philly like a good brawl” and “if they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun”. Trump also explicitly enjoined his followers to protest “peacefully and patriotically”.

But, if Trump didn’t incite the violence, who did?

A Utah activist who filmed the fatal shooting of a Trump supporter during the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol will be released on house arrest, a federal judge ruled Friday.

John Sullivan, 26, a self-described journalist and liberal activist, was arrested Thursday and charged with civil disorder, violent entry or disorderly conduct and entering a restricted building or grounds.

Sullivan, it turns out, has quite the history – and he’s far from a Trump supporter. Sullivan is so far-left that BLM was too tame for him, so he started his own left-militia, “Insurgence USA”. Sullivan was arrested on riot and criminal mischief charges after a motorist was shot at a “protest” he organised.

Sullivan claims he was at the Capitol as a “journalist”, but the evidence shows him inciting the crowd to invade the building. An FBI Special Agent has testified, “Prior to entering the Capitol building, Sullivan can be seen using a microphone to address the crowd outside and yelling ‘we about to burn this s**t down’ before leading the crowd in a chant of ‘it’s time for a revolution’.”

Now that sounds like incitement, to me.

Assistant United States Attorney Bryan Reeves also requested for Sullivan to not have access to social media and that his internet access be monitored to limit his ability to incite violence.

“We understand that this individual thrives in chaos,” Reeves said. “He thrives in inciting chaos. He will use the guise of protest in order to generate chaos. He will pose as different members of organizations, those that have even disavowed him, so that he can generate this self-aggrandizing attention.”

Another of the prominent faces from the Capitol riot has been revealed as the son of a New York Supreme Court judge – and a registered Democrat.

In other parts of the US, anti-Trump activists are also busily trying to incite even more violence.

A Florida man was arrested Friday and charged with trying to organize an armed response to pro-President Donald Trump protesters expected at the state Capitol on Sunday, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced.

Daniel Baker of Tallahassee was using social media to recruit people in a plot to create a circle around protesters and trap them in the Capitol, according to an affidavit filed by an FBI agent.

The court document describes a series of threats of violence and a prediction of civil war. Baker is described as anti-Trump, anti-government, anti-white supremacists and anti-police[…]

Baker was kicked out of the Army in 2007 after going AWOL before being deployed to Iraq.

Baker might not have been willing to fight for his country, but he was very willing to fight with foreign terrorists.

But, sure, it’s the nutter in a Viking hat who’s the real threat to democracy.
