Pavel Morozov in the Great White North

Pavlik Morozov, Horst Wessell, Greta Thunberg…a history of children’s propaganda.

Table of Contents

From the Hitler Youth to the Pavel Morozov cult in the Soviet Union, to LGBTQ activism, authoritarian regimes have always had an unholy fascination with getting their ideological hooks into children’s minds. In Orwell’s 1984, “Nearly all children nowadays were horrible.” The state’s “child heroes” are nasty little snitches – indeed, the children’s branch of the Party is called ‘The Spies’ – terrorising their elders with the threat of denunciation.

At the heart of this is the statist conceit that the all-powerful state is better equipped to raise children than their own parents.

Canada is fast descending into a statist abyss where courts are taking it upon themselves to forcibly remove children from parents who refuse to bow to harmful transgender dogma. Now, it’s encouraging children to act as leftist propagandists.

A CBC News report gives kids advice on how to shut down “conspiracy theories” voiced by their parents about coronavirus being created by China in a lab.

Because apparently that’s the media’s job now.

The CBC, like Australia’s ABC and Britain’s BBC, is a taxpayer-funded broadcaster. Like the others, it has long become little more than an echo-chamber of leftist dogma. Like them, too, it arrogantly sees itself as the sole Voice of Truth.

The presenter laments how somebody’s Dad may drop a message into chat blaming China for “manufacturing the coronavirus” with a “link to a site you’ve never heard of” (translation – a link that’s not, God forbid, mainstream media)[…]

At one point in the piece, the reporter even suggests that conspiracy theories can be “just as dangerous as a virus.”

“Maybe send an article from a legitimate source quoting credible scientists on why the virus wasn’t manufactured,” states the host.

Surprise, surprise: the “legitimate source” is none other than the CBC itself.

Contrary to the propagandising of taxpayer-funded leftists, evidence is fast mounting that the virus indeed did escape, probably inadvertently, from the lab in Wuhan.

That doesn’t mean that the more outlandish conspiracy theories are right – but it doesn’t make mainstream media who parrot Chinese propaganda right, either.

More importantly, free-speech hating leftists comprehensively fail to grasp that simply censoring even foolish opinions doesn’t eradicate them. In fact, often the opposite.

The irony of all this of course is that virtually nobody trusts the mainstream media, so when they attack conspiracy theories it just makes more people believe them.

When social media giants then get involved to censor information about the same conspiracy theories, that also bolsters the notion that they’re accurate because powerful interests are trying to stifle them.

It might seem like a trite saying, but it remains a powerful truth: sunlight is the best disinfectant. The more the distrusted mainstream media try to suppress even the most foolish conspiracy theories, the more some people will be prepared to believe them.

The vast majority of people see the news report as desperate and hokey, making them believe the conspiracy theory to an even greater degree.

Even more, the more the mainstream media and leftist elites try to burrow their tentacles into kids’ minds, the more they will be resented by a public fed up with being brow-beaten, finger-wagged, and derided as “deplorables”.
