Where are all the men and women of virtue in our Parliament? Is there no-one who will stand up and say ‘enough is enough?’ Is there anyone out there with the balls to go against the baying hysterical wokescolds and say ‘No, I won’t be bowing down to the haters, the wreckers, the impotent and the feckless?’
In New Zealand, all we ever seem to get are soft boys and harpy women. No-one seems to have the gumption to actually stand up and say ‘No, I will not kneel, I will stand. I will stand for what is right, not what is currently trending in the Twitterspere.’
Well, occasionally we get one or two. Elliot Ikilei of the New Conservatives is currently about the nearest thing we have to that. That Destiny Church guy tries but as far as I’m concerned he’s a charlatan. If there was no money in it for him, would we still see him? I doubt it. Billy Te Kahika is making some of the right noises and is starting to gain a bit of a following, but he says and does some weird stuff so I doubt that his support will come to much. Although for some reason I do get the feeling that he will be heading up a dodgy cult somewhere in the not too distant future. (Can I copywright Hori-avale)?
At least in America there are still a few politicians with morals and compunction. The Don of course is pretty good at standing up for real Americans but among the other Republicans, well let’s just say the real men (and women) are few and far between. Much like here, most of them are too concerned with winning the middle ground but end up losing both sides. Appeasement it seems, is a stinky cologne.
But there is one man that might be worth voting for over there. American Republican nominee for North Carolina Madison Cawthorn seems to be made of the right stuff. At only 25 years of age, Cawthorn hasn’t yet made his mark but already he has been the subject of malicious targetting from the left with spurious sexual assault claims that have of course gone nowhere, but at least he is prepared to stand for his country, his flag and his anthem. What makes this even more of a statement is that Cawthorn is paralysed from the waist down.
He recently put out this short video on Twitter.
I wonder when we will have a parliamentary hopeful in New Zealand stand with similar conviction?
Cawthorn is of course railing against the pathetic overpaid athletes, the snivelling leftist politicians, the big woke brands and all the other losers who want to be seen sucking up to the Black Lives Matter Marxists.
We are seeing the same here, but thankfully at this point in time, it is just the usual blue haired and homeless who are trying it on. I can’t imagine that we will see too much of this #metoo nonsense from our professional athletes, well, Sonny Bill Williams excepted of course.
But as some wag suggested recently on a certain Meme Working Group on Facebook, if American athletes wish to take a knee before a game, simply pop Trump’s picture up on the jumbo-tron and announce to everyone, ‘Please stand for your National Anthem, or feel free to kneel for your President.’ Win/win I reckon.
Who would we put up on the screen in New Zealand though?
