The reason the backlash against the horrific revelations of clerical child abuse was so strong was not just the anti-Christian bias of authorities and the media – it was the abuse of trust. Priests and the church in general were trusted implicitly as moral exemplars of our society. That they perpetrated, or allowed to happen, such appalling crimes was a brutal shock that engendered near-unconquerable revulsion.
Yet, the high priests of our modern secular cults similarly abuse the trust of our society, with nowhere near the same backlash. As I’ve reported many times, abuse by teachers is near-endemic and education bureaucracies cover it up as assiduously as any bishop simply ‘moving on’ a known predator. The BBC, the self-appointed moral guardian of Britain, allowed the likes of Jimmy Savile to prey on children at their will. In Australia, the ABC, which touts itself as our ‘most trusted’ institution, similarly runs cover for paedophiles.
But the closest thing to a religion for the ‘progressive’ elites is the Rainbow Cult. And, boy, does it have a problem with predators, many of whom are its most lauded and celebrated high priests. In Britain, Canada, the USA and Australia, a cavalcade of ‘Pride’ panjandrums have been convicted of child abuse crimes. They’re still at it and they’re still being feted by the state.
A Victorian government department crowned a repeat child sex offender as the state’s “disability pride champion”, before officials realised his criminal past and stripped him of the award.
The department says an administrative bungle led to Cameron Bloomfield, 40, being honoured at the Victorian Disability Awards in December 2024.
Before they realised? Or until they were caught? After all, nominees were required to submit a police check consent form. Bloomfield dutifully complied.
So, how on earth did they not notice this?
In April this year, he was jailed for three months after pleading guilty to breaching reporting obligations as a registered sex offender.
Last month, a bail hearing in the Supreme Court was told Bloomfield’s offending dated back to 2005, and he was sentenced for reoffending in 2009, 2011, 2013 and 2020.
According to a 2013 County Court judgement, Bloomfield tried to groom and procure sex from four children and was jailed for a minimum of 27 months.
Yet, there he was, in December 2024, being feted by a fawning gaggle of state bureaucrats while he accepted his state-funded award.
The dark truth was a guilty little secret for a whole year.
The department discovered the error in December 2025 and immediately rescinded the award.
The department has since reviewed and updated its processes.
That means, what? Next time, make sure no one finds out about the predators they’re celebrating and showering with taxpayer money?
Bloomfield, who has an intellectual impairment, has been a prominent disability and LGBTIQ+ advocate for years, and once testified before a Victorian parliamentary committee.
That doesn’t excuse his recidivist child-molesting. As even the judge stated, “You were well aware what you were doing was wrong and unlawful.”
He has also been interviewed by numerous media outlets, including the ABC.
Just like that one-time poster couple for gay marriage and adoption.
This being Victoria, of course, the revolving door ‘justice’ system is already quietly letting the unrepentant predator go free.
Bloomfield, who is appealing the severity of his jail term, was released on bail last month despite opposition from police and his victims.
Police alleged he was an unacceptable risk to the community and contacting children from the case.
So, the next time he offends, make the bureaucrats and judges who set him free to do so share his sentence.
