Put Him up at Yours, Then, Your Honour #5

Judge gives pedo a light sentence because he put on a dress and a wig.

Every time I post yet another story making the case for judicial responsibility laws, you’d think I’d scraped the bottom of the barrel for out-of-touch judicial recklessness. But there’s a whole lot filth in the bottom of judicial barrel yet.

Such as a judge giving a pedo a meaninglessly light sentence and legal anonymity, simply because the child rapist decided to put on a dress and some lippy.

The Victorian government is facing demands to review sentencing policies after a father who sexually abused his five-year-old daughter was given a minimum jail term of just two and half years, with the judge accepting that his transition to being a woman reduced his “moral culpability”.

Premier Jacinta Allan is already under fire for ignoring pleas from women’s groups to have the sex offender, anonymised in court records as Hilary Maloney, moved from a female correctional centre to a men’s prison.

But I’m sure he’ll pose absolutely no danger to the female prisoners.

Be in no doubt just how heinous this creep’s crimes were. Having agreed to become a “slave” of a fellow predator, American Sam Booth, “Maloney” proceeded to repeatedly rape his little daughter on camera, to please his “master”. In just one month, “Maloney” produced 13 videos and 64 images of him raping his daughter.

Enter the deranged feminist judge.

Women’s groups have slammed the “extraordinary leniency” granted to Maloney by Victorian County Court judge Nola Karapanagiotidis, who accepted when sentencing him that “given Booth’s manipulation and coercion, and your vulnerabilities, you were much less able to make objectively the right and healthy choices” […]

Judge Karapanagiotidis accepted the evidence of consultant forensic psychiatrist Rajan Darjee that Maloney suffered gender dysphoria at an early age and grew up as a trans child in an environment of transphobia and intolerance.

If crims, especially rockspiders, are anything, it’s rat cunning. They know exactly which sob stories are going to tweak the buttons of pathologically sympathetic shrinks and beaks.

Dr Darjee said Maloney’s pattern of offending occurred when “a more dominant male pressurises, manipulates and/or coerces a female who has access to a child, usually her own, to sexually abuse that child and/or to make that child available to him to sexually abuse”.

Except that he’s not a ‘female’, you blithering idiot. He’s a male predator who’s looking for any excuse to wriggle out of what’s due to him.

And our idiot courts are only too willing to indulge him.

The judge recited the difficulties Maloney claimed to have experienced in transitioning to become a woman, when his “gender identity was not fully accepted” by those around him.

Well, cry me a bloody river.

Judge Karapanagiotidis also took into consideration that “you will face additional hardship in prison as a relatively young trans woman and that you will struggle considerably, more so with prison life than the average inmate”.

Good.

It’s long past time that judges who pass ridiculous sentences like these are forced to take some accountability. We have laws to jail bosses who should have known better if someone dies on their watch. Judges and bureaucrats need to know the same Damoclean sword of accountability hangs over their own heads.

We’d almost certainly see less of this:

Judge Karapanagiotidis imposed a sentence of four years and nine months’ imprisonment with a two-and-a-half-year minimum. The maximum penalty for the offences is 25 years, with a standard sentence of 10 years.

As Sall Grover, who certainly knows a thing or two about dealing with male predators manipulating the law, says, “If you set the precedent that these horrible people can basically get lighter sentences by making this claim, you’ve created the loophole for them.”
