Critical Race Theory instruction in schools really should be rapidly replaced with Critical Thinking Theory and Critical Thinking Practice in the halls of power, as our leaders seem woefully short of the ability to engage their brains before acting.

Witness the Captain’s Call to ban oil and gas exploration.

The Greens and their fellow numpties in Labour really have zero idea about how the real world actually works.  OK, so they have a bee in their bonnet about us all driving EVs instead of illegitimate utes*. Fair enough if that’s what pushes their buttons, but where are they going to source the tyres for the EVs to run on?  Where are they going to source the grease for the wheel bearings? Where are they going to source the bitumen for the EVs to drive on? Where are they going to source the cases for the batteries?

“Bicycles,” I hear you chorus.  Still need tyres, helmets and some lubricants.

The evil black gold extracted from the ground ends up in many more places than just the local forecourt petrol pump.

All quantities in US gallons. The BFD

I think we all understand what “gasoline” and “jet fuel” are and where they are used.  How would the climate crusaders get to their annual Atmospheric Armageddon whinge fests without jet fuel? (But that’s another issue.)

What are distillates?  Many of us will know them as solvents and product such as mineral spirits, kerosene and white spirits, but distillates are also found in a wide variety of consumer products including lip gloss, liquid gas, fertiliser, furniture polish, pesticides, plastics, paint thinners, solvents, light oil and so on.

Then there is the “other products” category. The things that make modern life the wonderful thing that it is:

The demonization of ‘evil’ oil by the idiot activists, their political enablers and their MSM propaganda arm must stop.

*Did you know that in 1900, nearly 40% of US cars were electric. Today, less than 1% of cars run on electric power (1.8 million out of 270 million)
