I sometimes wonder whether the UN building isn’t Enid Blyton’s Magic Faraway Tree – with its inhabitants forever stuck in Topsy-Turvy Land. How else to explain the fact that the world as apparently seen by the UN? A world almost diametrically at odds with the reality of, well, nearly everyone else.
In UN-Land, China always tells the truth, Saudi Arabia never violates anyone’s human rights and sovereignty is expendable.
And violent, Marxist thugs are a peaceful assembly.
The United Nations faced widespread backlash on Friday after its Office at Geneva defended Antifa, a far-left extremist organization that President Donald Trump has sought to designate as a terrorist organization, from allegations that it is a domestic terrorist organization.
U.N. Geneva tweeted: “UN #HumanRights experts express profound concern over a recent statement by the US Attorney-General describing #Antifa and other anti-fascist activists as domestic terrorists, saying it undermines the rights to freedom of expression and of peaceful assembly in the country.”
Ah, yes – blackshirted thugs roaming the streets, beating up people and smashing property are just so peaceful. Mussolini’s blackshirts were a notoriously peaceful bunch, too.
This is also yet another example of leftist DoubleThink. At the same time that the left are claiming that Antifa doesn’t even exist, the peak globalist institution is openly defending them.

Journalist Andy Ngo has more experience than most of Antifa’s “peacefulness”. He was bashed, robbed and attacked with corrosive chemicals while covering a demonstration by Portland Antifa.
“Antifa groups instruct adherents to maim or kill political opponents. They tell comrades to destroy property through vandalism & arson attacks. They provide literature that calls for destabilizing societies so that governments can be overthrown. This is not peaceful assembly.”
The UN has since deleted the tweet. But screencaps are forever.
