It’s a ridiculous story that exposes the media’s double standards and the fashion industry’s selective support. If the media wants to regain the public’s trust, they’d do well to stop obsessing over what female politicians wear and start focusing on what they do.
With one week to go until the next budget, the coalition appears to have gained some momentum while their polling numbers improve. The challenge for Nicola Willis is to ensure the numbers in the books do the same next week.
Obviously Nicola Willis does not want to make a coat out of Dalmatians or dress as well as Miranda, but Labour cannot see this, any more than they cannot see that Willis is far more presentable and politically adept than Luxon.
