Māori live on misinformation:

Broader society, protests are normally fuelled by misinformation or rumours – such as the notion that the bill might remove the Treaty from statutes or diminish existing Māori rights. That is not even in discussion. What New Zealanders want is a clear understanding of what the Treaty actually stands for, its influence and a move to deflate its overrated misinterpreted standing.
