2. Labour and National Have Already Lost
Former National MP Simon O'Connor says the real story is the decline of Labour and National, both under 30%. He still picks a centre-right win on the back of a National overhang, but says National "has moved away from its core values and principles" and is paying for it.
4. OWEN JENNINGS: TOP in Hypocrisy
Former ACT MP Owen Jennings on Opportunity. It wants a $30,000 cap on donations, yet was founded on a single donation of over $2 million and has taken large six-figure cheques this election. Its biggest donor now sits on the board. "Just another political mop with a freshly polished handle."
6. Seat by Seat
Peter Williams goes seat by seat. With Te Pāti Māori likely to win four electorates, the House grows and the right needs at least 63. His count, using votecheck.co.nz and the latest Curia poll: National on 40 electorates, right 65, left 63. "And Christopher Luxon still says 'two ticks blue'!"
