Good morning. Here are 3 of the 10 stories in today's Ten@10.
1. Democracy Briefing: A fractured verdict and a fragile majority
Bryce Edwards says the coalition is clinging to a narrow majority boosted by overhang seats, with National leading in 41 electorates on a party vote worth 36 MPs. On his rough sums, a 2023-sized swing on the specials leaves it one short, handing the balance of power to Opportunity, the party Luxon ruled out.

6. The End of the Two-Party era
Former National MP Simon O'Connor says the winners were the smaller parties, and National, under 30%, faces "an existential challenge". Labour did little better, with the vote going to the Greens and Opportunity instead. His verdict: this may be "the beginning of a long-term realignment."
7. RODNEY HIDE: Nine hundred thousand votes
Rodney Hide says National's party votes bought it nothing because its seats all come from electorates, after Luxon called split voting "an insanely stupid idea". In a postscript he corrects his specials maths and says the race now turns on Wairarapa, where National leads by 139 votes.
