Today’s comment was written by Caustic Monkey Thank you Caustic Monkey for taking the time to craft such an interesting comment.
The public knows that the Mainstream Media lies:
They lie by omission:
They leave out inconvenient viewpoints and inconvenient facts. They edit statements they don’t like to leave out important parts, they crop photos to give incorrect impressions.
They lie by distortion:
They use misrepresentation and name-calling (eg. “far-right”, “fascist”, “Nazi”, “racist”), false equivalence (eg. placing Hamas and Israel on an equal moral footing) and targeted reporting (reporting only the bad bits of the stuff they don’t like and only the good bits of the stuff they do).
They lie by selectivity:
They do not do even the simplest fact-checks on statements they agree with. They use the most biased fact checks of statements they don’t like. They often completely ignore events that do not suit the narrative, declining to report on them at all.
Then, of course, they simply flat-out lie in the old-fashioned way, by making up things that suit them.
It is of little surprise that no one with a functioning brain trusts them any more. Luxon should not only stop the PIJF immediately but make plans to stop funding RNZ and TV1 – let them survive (they won’t) on their own.
