Yesterday I had the pleasure of chatting to a 99-year-old who was out checking the roadside drain that the local council is not clearing as it should. He could well and truly see they didn’t have their priorities right and the excessive rate increases were a rort. He fondly remembered when rates on his half acre property were 7 pound 6 shillings. He also mentioned there were no sealed roads in the town when he was a boy in the 1920’s. The economy of the alleged evil “colonisers” has given us all so much. Absolutely crazy the deranged grifters now want to take us all back to the dark ages.
