Remember when Jacinda Ardern said that “We will continue to be your single source of truth” about the Covid pandemic? Lest you be in any doubt, anything other than official government pronouncements were dangerous misinformation. Ardern was absolutely unambiguous: “Unless you hear it from us, it is not the truth.”
It was a lie. Maybe Ardern believed it, but it was still a lie. It was also a lie when she said, “You can also trust the Director-General of Health and the Ministry of Health”.
Because you couldn’t trust the Director-General of Health. You couldn’t trust the Health Minister. You also couldn’t trust “superstar scientist” Siouxsie Wiles.
Liars. Big, fat, lying liars. All of them.
We know for a fact that they lied because one of their biggest lies has been spectacularly busted.
No, you’re not crazy. Yes, they claimed the vaccines would prevent transmission.
No matter how hard they’re back-pedalling now, they said it. We know they said it: they’re all on the record saying it.
Now we know for a fact that they lied.
One of the most bizarre lies being told this week in response to Pfizer executive Janine Small’s testimony to EU Parliament is that, actually, the Covid vaccines were never supposed to stop the spread of the virus.
Asked by Dutch MEP Rob Roos whether the company had tested its vaccine on “stopping the transmission of the virus” before it rolled out globally, Ms Small said “no” because “we had to really move at the speed of science to really understand what is taking place in the market”.
But, as an outraged Roos responded, that wasn’t what we were told at the time.
“Millions of people worldwide felt compelled to get vaccinated because of the myth that ‘you do it for others’”.

“Get vaccinated for others” was always a lie.
Of course, the big, fat, lying liars are trying to worm out of it, claiming that they never said it would prevent transmission. We only ever said it would reduce the risk of the disease, they claim.
That’s a fucking barefaced lie.
Because setting aside what it says in the fine print, the public was told repeatedly, for months, both explicitly and implicitly, that the vaccines would prevent transmission.
They’re all on tape saying it.
In one of their trademark dinky cartoons, Siouxsie Wiles and collaborator Toby Morris explicitly claimed that “vaccinated people are… likely to pass it on to fewer people”.
If that wasn’t explicit enough, the graphic shows an unvaccinated person riddled with virus particles and surrounded by a cloud, dispersing exponentially further and wider than the vaccinated person. The graphic also unambiguously claims to show that the vaccinated person won’t spread the virus at all, while the unvaccinated person infects everybody around them.
There’s no dodging it: they lied.
And they used that lie to divide our society and unconscionably demonise a whole segment of the population.
The vaccines were the “way out” of the pandemic, they were not to just to protect ourselves but to “protect others”, they would “stop the spread”, and not getting vaccinated was “selfish”.
Vaccine passports, the “vaccinated economy”, were necessary so people who “did the right thing” would feel “safe” knowing they weren’t “mixing” with the unvaccinated, who were a “risk to the community”.

On the basis of the lie of “stopping the spread”, thousands of peaceful New Zealanders were demonised as “dangerous extremists” and “white supremacists”. They were ostracised by the breadth and width of the New Zealand political establishment. They were brutally crushed by thuggish cops and a bully-boy parliamentary speaker.
Even now, they’re smeared by association and vilified by the media and demonised in local government elections.
The Prime Minister cackled as she gleefully acknowledged that New Zealand is a two-tier society.
And all because of a fucking, damnable and unforgivable lie.
A lie they won’t even admit to, let alone apologise for.
Damn them to hell – and never, ever forget.
