Remember Hunter Biden’s laptop? If you only got your news from Twitter, Facebook, or the legacy media, you almost certainly don’t. Big Tech banned users from even sharing the story. At most, you might be aware that it was all Russian disinformation. Lies, “illusion”, a “farcical retread” of the Russian campaigned that robbed — robbed — Hillary Clinton of her rightful place in the White House. Good old, fact-checking Politico published a rigorous debunking by no less than 50 intelligence analysts and national security experts, including former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper (if you can’t believe the Clap-Man, who can you believe?).
Except that all of that was the lie. Even the New York Times has given up pretending otherwise.
Of course, the Times hasn’t quite come out and admitted that they lied through their teeth about Hunter’s laptop. Hell, it took them nearly 60 years to concede that Walter Duranty might have been a bit flexible with the truth when he furiously denied reports of famine in the Soviet Union (the Pulitzer people still won’t admit it).
But the Times’ latest blockbuster investigative journalism piece includes the shamefaced tacit admission that, well, they l… li… llll… didn’t quite tell the truth.
A comprehensive report about the ongoing federal probe into Hunter Biden’s tax filings published by the New York Times on Wednesday night confirmed the existence of the first son’s infamous laptop.
There’s more than a hint of satisfied glee in the Post’s reporting on the Times’ squirming admission. After all, it was the Post who broke the Hunter Biden Laptop story — only to be shouted down by a furious gang of legacy media and Big Tech, led by the Times.
As part of their investigation into Hunter Biden, the Times reports, federal prosecutors have looked into emails between the first son and his former business associates that were recovered from the laptop.
Some of the scrutinized correspondence was between Hunter Biden and Devon Archer, who had served with the first son on the board of Ukraine energy company Burisma, the report said.
Archer, who was sentenced last month in an unrelated fraud case, has “cooperated completely” with the feds in their probe into Hunter Biden, The Post has reported.
According to the Times, the emails between Hunter Biden, Archer and others regarding their international business activity came from files the publication obtained that “appears to have come from a laptop abandoned by Mr. Biden in a Delaware repair shop.”
Yes, that laptop. The one they said didn’t exist, and the files were all a bunch of Russian lies, anyway.
People familiar with the emails and investigation confirmed their authenticity to the Times.
The laptop confirmation was included in the Times report that also revealed how Hunter Biden paid off a tax liability of over $1 million — a year after he announced he was under investigation for defrauding the IRS.
Hunter Biden has been under investigation for failing to pay taxes since his father was vice president, but the inquiry broadened in 2018 to look into how his international business dealings intersected with President Biden’s political career.
New York Post
The correspondence included emails with a top executive for Burisma – a Ukrainian energy company whose board Hunter Biden served on for a reported salary of up to $50,000 a month.
Emails showed that Hunter Biden introduced the executive to his father in 2015 while he was then vice president less than a year before the elder Biden pressured government officials in Ukraine into firing a prosecutor who was investigating the company.
Other emails reviewed by The Post found that Hunter Biden played a role in helping a California defense contractor analyze killer diseases and bioweapons in Ukraine. Moscow has claimed that secret American biological-warfare labs in Ukraine justified its invasion of Ukraine last month. The Kremlin doubled down on the accusations Thursday, claiming the labs produced biochemical weapons at the Biden family’s behest.
The Post isn’t the only one enjoying giving the Times a well-deserved kicking.
Former President Donald Trump took a shot at the New York Times during a rally on Saturday, after the paper “finally admitted” Hunter Biden’s laptop exists […]
“Just last week the failing New York Times finally admitted that Hunter Biden’s laptop was real. Remember when they said it was done by Russia?” Trump said to a crowd of his supporters in Commerce, outside of Atlanta.
“Putin’s got bigger problems right now but he must’ve thought we were nuts.”
The 45th president slammed the Times for waiting to publish the report “till after the election and significantly before the next election because it’s so bad, it’s so bad what they did — probably illegal.”
New York Post
Trump has every right to be furious — as do American voters. The campaign of lies by the legacy media and Big Tech almost certainly robbed Trump of a second term. Multiple surveys have shown that, had voters in key swing states known of the existence of the laptop, and its contents, enough would have changed their vote to deliver Trump a comfortable win.
So, yes, there was election interference all right — but it weren’t the Russians wot dunnit.
