This does not account for fatalities where the authorities drag away the bodies and dispose of them elsewhere.

The situation is escalating so much that civil war is becoming increasingly likely especially with a debilitating escalation of conflict in the zones controlled by the EAOs. This could seriously impact the export of illicit quantities of teak, jade, and gemstones, which supplies funds to the Tatmadaw. The strategy would possibly be to ramp up action in the conflict zones and tie down the Tatmadaw in debilitating action and then develop street guerrilla action in the major metropolitan areas. This will affect the police who are not used to people firing back at them and will have a demoralising effect. Under those circumstances the police would start to lose officers to the CDM.

This will probably start in the poorer districts of the cities such as Hlaing Thar Yar, Dagon, Okkalapa and Insein. These are areas where people are already fighting back with catapults and rocks.

Meanwhile the protests still go on, especially in country districts.
