Make no mistake – this is Mahuta co-governance and also Tuhoe-governance. It only benefits the tribal elite who are political insiders.
Don’t ever overlook this Mahuta with family and friends model of co-governance, which this minister is determined to roll out across the country.
Companies such as Stuff and NZME (publisher of the Herald) can make their own rules, as long as they’re willing to risk consequences such as loss of trust and declining readership. RNZ (and TVNZ, but let’s not go there) has no such latitude.
