To damn them with faint praise, the Albanese government’s proposed new ‘hate speech’ laws have at least knocked some low-hanging fruitcakes off the poison tree.
Neo-Nazi group the National Socialist Network has announced it will disband in response to proposed new hate speech laws by the federal government.
In a statement posted to Telegram, the group announced the closure of the National Socialist Network would also spell the end of “co-projects” White Australia, the European Australian Movement and the White Australia Party.
In reality, this is going to do nine-tenths of eff-all to actually combat anti-Semitic violence in Australia. While the pathetic LARPers of the NSN excite the legacy media with their silly antics, they amount in reality to little more than a troupe of harmless circus clowns. The really vicious lions and tigers of the anti-Semitic left and Jew-hating Muslims are still roaming the tent and mauling at will, while the media-political establishment gawps at the clown show.
Still, I’m not going to weep for a bunch of Jew-hating goons, however harmless they are in the greater scheme of things.
“If the laws pass, there will [be] no way to avoid the organisation being banned,” the statement said.
“This disbandment is being done before the laws take effect to avoid former members of the organisations from being arrested and charged.”
The statement – which said the neo-Nazi groups would close down by January 18 – was signed by leader Thomas Sewell and other high-profile white nationalists.
The National Socialist Network announcement pre-empts the passing of legislation proposed by the federal government in the wake of the Bondi terror attack that killed 15 people and injured dozens of others.
Except that it conspicuously wasn’t the NSN who killed Jewish Australians at Bondi.
The NSN might be disbanding, but there’s still a plethora of Islamic hate groups who are the ones really behind the violence. All the NSN ever really did was mouth off like the morons they are.
National Socialist Network member Joel Davis was arrested for allegedly inviting people to “rhetorically rape” Wentworth MP Allegra Spender.
Meanwhile, the hypocrisy of the Albanese government just gets more staggering by the day.
[Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke] on Tuesday said fighting bigotry “never ends”.
Mostly, it never ends in your electorate, Burke, from the very voters you desperately rely on to stay in your job. Bigotry that will be virtually untouched by the new laws, thanks to the government’s craven carve-out of ‘religious speech’. This means that a swivel-eyed jihadi like Wissam Haddad will be free to spout all the Jew-hating drivel he wants, because it’s Jew-hating drivel directly quoted from the Koran and Hadith.
Burke piled chutzpah on hypocrisy, when he bragged that “we will keep deporting people and disbanding organisations that hate Australia”, which, if he was serious, would mean emptying out most of Western Sydney – and eliminating half of Labor’s voter base.
We’ve already seen Burke’s form – and it’s not good. While he bans Jewish speakers from Australia, Islamic hate preachers are allowed to stay as long as they like. Not only that, but his government showers them with taxpayer money.
So, I’m not going to shed a tear in farewell to the National Socialist Network – but I’m not going to believe for an instant that this government is serious about tackling anti-Semitism.
