Tiger

Tiger, a tenacious, surprisingly well-educated animal, living and working in the real world.  Having to come up with staff wages every week sharpens the senses.

As we are daily browbeaten by bobbing heads and flapping hands across New Zealand and Australia to mask up, get vaccinated, maintain social distancing and survive on bread crumbs, whilst our work is put on hold to save the nation, I thought it was timely to look at the message and the messenger.

The daily doses of thought strychnine from the podiums of truth are relentless. The frowny-faced edicts are being foisted on the (by now) long-suffering plebeians. The message has ceased to be about a public health catastrophe. The message is now about control.

The daily emissions from Gladys, Anna, Chairman Dan, McGowan, and (no doubt soon to be) Ardern are not about keeping the public safe anymore, they are about coercing the public into taking an experimental medication.

The message also warns us to venture out at our peril, not due to the danger of catching a virus, but on pain of a fine. The message is about complying with the order to wear a microbe infested face nappy or else!

The message threatens lockdowns for a single case; shutting off those who rely on the physical world of private enterprise, those in the supply chains, builders and so on, to earn an income.

Meantime debt is skyrocketing, productivity is being stifled and supply chains are being asphyxiated. It’s clear those in the “purple circle” have no clue how things actually work. Because of this, the message has changed numerous times, and if you are not a note-taker or Facebook follower, of those high and mighty, you could be excused for being confused.

The problem those occupying the “purple circle” have is that they are delivering a confusing message. Moreover, the message is being fronted by two types of animals: politicians and health bureaucrats.

In the most trusted profession rankings, health bureaucrats and politicians do not fare well. A couple of quick checks suggest health bureaucrats lie between Ministers of Religion and TV Reporters.  As for politicians, these frowny two-faced arm flapping journeymen/women are way down in negative territory, one of the least trusted professions.

These folk, vying with used car salesmen for the public’s trust, are leading the public health message.

The message is constantly moving away from protecting the public to controlling the public and is being broadcast by the most untrusted profession. My summary, therefore, is that politically, the constant messaging from the podiums of truth, started out great for the messengers as they daily got their frowny mugs on the TV.

However, like a drug addict seeking out the next fix, where the reward is ever diminishing, these untrustworthy wannabe dictators have had to up the ante. To maintain their fix, they are resorting to ever more dramatic rhetoric to maintain the fear.

The health bureaucrats, caught in the limelight, are personally badly equipped to deal with daily pressers where the shifting message they are trying to sell is increasingly being hijacked by the lockdown path-dependent bottom-feeding creatures that politicians are.
