The MSM as We Know Them Should Go Away

Before the TV news all those years ago in Auckland, we had two main newspapers with highly qualified and well-paid editors whose job was to do a daily editorial on any subject of the day.  Often both newspapers would editorialise the same subject. We would read the Herald‘s opinion in the morning and digest that point of view, and then that afternoon the Auckland Star would have published its editors’ take on the same subject.  That was balanced reporting or opinion making, after reading both points of view and even argumentative debate we had something of merit to influence our take or views on that subject.
