The American left are up to their old tricks. They pull the same stunt every time a Republican is nominated for a high office: dredge up some footling and mostly made-up scandal from their past and scream blue murder about it.
They keep doing it, because they keep getting away with it and because spineless RINOs keep capitulating. Donald Trump, JD Vance, Brett Kavanaugh, Robert F Kennedy, Roy Moore: all were and are barraged with scurrilous allegations – and the accusers all mysteriously slunk back into the shadows as soon as their target either won, or, as is more often the case, was successfully bullied into backing down.
Now, they’re coming for Tulsi Gabbard.
Tulsi Gabbard, President-elect Donald Trump’s choice to lead the US intelligence services, in 2022 endorsed one of Russia’s main justifications for invading Ukraine: the existence of dozens of US-funded biolabs working on some of the world’s nastiest pathogens.
Yet Putin never addressed the existence of the labs in his casus belli speech of February 22, 2023. It was never a ‘main justification’ for the invasion.
That’s far from the only lie the media are peddling.
In fact, the labs are public and part of an international effort to control outbreaks and stop bioweapons.
In actual fact, the very existence of the network of bioweapons labs came as a complete surprise to many after the war was well underway. As for ‘control outbreaks and stop bioweapons’, that’s suspiciously close to the propaganda China put out about the bioweapons lab in Wuhan. Does anyone seriously believe them?
So, what did Gabbard actually say?

Where is the lie there?
She has criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy as corrupt and has expressed sympathy for Russia’s position, given Ukraine’s desire to join NATO, the Western military alliance.
Well, yes: because he is. And ‘expressed sympathy for Russia’s position’? Here’s what she really said:
“This war and suffering could have easily been avoided if Biden Admin/NATO had simply acknowledged Russia’s legitimate security concerns,” she posted on Twitter at the start of Russia’s invasion in 2022.
But the leftist smears aren’t done yet.
While serving in the House, Gabbard had met with former Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad in early 2017 during a trip to the war-torn country […]
At the time of her meeting with Assad, Gabbard stressed the need for dialogue between the two countries, and subsequently castigated US strikes on Syria under the Trump administration in response to alleged chemical weapon deployments there.
Gabbard also openly questioned the legitimacy of allegations from the intelligence community that the former Assad regime was responsible for the chemical attack. All this has led to criticisms from figures like former National Security Adviser John Bolton who have characterized her as an Assad apologist.
However, she has also denounced Assad as a “brutal dictator.”
So, she took Churchill’s position that “Jaw-jaw is better than war-war” and notorious war-hawk Bolton didn’t like it? No wonder the Party of War, the Democrats, are outraged. Who’ll keep their paymasters in the military-industrial complex fat and satisfied if a bunch of peaceniks start running the show?
Gabbard also said that Assad wasn’t an enemy of the US: again, where was the lie? Just because Assad was a dictator, didn’t mean that he was a threat to the US. Indeed, to adopt a blunt geopolitical calculus, whatever replaces Assad is much more likely to be a threat than he ever was. This is not praise of Assad: it’s a frank assessment of the facts.
What’s clearly got the war-addicted Deep State and its media-political cronies worried is that Gabbard, a military veteran who served in Iraq, will be a threat to their beloved – and lucrative – Forever Wars.
She is widely expected to be framing her encounter with Assad in the context of her opposition to so-called “endless wars,” something that was at the forefront of her failed 2020 bid in the Democratic primary for president.
Hundreds of her fellow veterans clearly hope so.
More than 250 veterans – including current members of Congress and former federal officials – signed an open letter endorsing her for the DNI position to coordinate between the government’s 17 intelligence agencies.
“While most Americans know Tulsi as a fearless and principled Congresswoman who stood up to entrenched political systems, we know her as a fellow veteran – one whose worldview was forged through the crucible of serving in combat zones and a lifelong devotion to service,” the veterans wrote in the letter published Monday.
Prominent veterans such as Reps Eli Crane (R-Ariz); Brian Mast (R-Fla.), who is set to helm the House Foreign Affairs Committee; former acting Secretary of Defense Chris Miller and others had signed the letter.
But will nobody think of Black Rock, Halliburton, Raytheon, Boeing, Lockheed Martin…? Who’s looking after their interests?
