The Unashamed Left-wing Bias of Newshub

Table of Contents

How biased is Newshub? Pretty biased seems to be the answer if you look at the construction of their website.

A vigilant reader noticed that Jacinda Ardern has her own tag on Newshub’s website.

And if you click on the tag you get taken to a whole page of Jacinda Ardern stories:

But look what happens when you change the tag to Judith Collins:

Just one story, despite her being in the news constantly after taking over the leadership.

There are no tags for John Key, Bill English, Simon Bridges or Todd Muller, suggesting that this is either a new thing or a deliberate slant to the left from Newshub.

There aren’t any tags either for Winston Peters, James Shaw or David Seymour.

Whether it is by design or deliberate, it still shows a bias in favour of the Labour party leader.

We could throw around terms like “systemic” or “casual bias” like debates over racism but facts are facts, as inconvenient as they may be. Newshub has been caught on the hop.

No doubt they’ll say it is new, and hasn’t yet propagated through the site. The proof will be in the pudding to see if they change their bias in any meaningful way.

My pick is that they’ll just ignore it and then we will know for sure that it is deliberate.

ANZAC Day: Lest we forget

This is my ANZAC Day tribute posting. ANZAC Day means a great deal for me and my family. I suppose it is because we have a connection to the original ANZACs in 1915 and Gallipoli, and to a veteran of a war much fresher in our minds Firstly, I pay
