As the saying goes, if the left didn’t have double-standards, they wouldn’t have any. Especially when it comes to flinging their poo and hooting about ‘racism’. Case in point: ‘Pirate Pete’ FitzSimons.
The bandannaed boofhead joined the pile on, a few years back, of a teenage girl at the footy who called Adam Goodes an “ape”. Never, ever, under any circumstances, Pirate Pete thundered, is it ever acceptable to call a black man an “ape”. Then some spoiler types dug up one of Pete’s own columns where he called a black South African a “gorilla”.
Shut the f- up, Pete quickly explained.
But FitzSimons has nothing on that other darling of the ABC-lefty set, Rhys Muldoon. Not content with living off the taxpayer for decades at Pravda-by-the-Harbour, Muldoon stopped even pretending and took up a job as a Labor staffer. He even posed for kissy-kissy photos with Anthony Albanese to demonstrate his party loyalty.

Then he decided to let loose with an outburst of racism and sexism so unhinged that even a Klansman would blush.
The former Play School uncle, Secret Life of Us face and co-author with Kevin Rudd of a children’s book about Australia Day – because of course he did – had been drawing yet another taxpayer-funded wage in Tasmanian Labor senator Richard Dowling’s office. Opponents did what Labor never does to its own: they read his social media. The senator sacked him on Tuesday.
“The words used were unacceptable at any time.”
Oh, I don’t know: they would have gone down a treat at the next National Socialist Network barbecue. But perhaps not when the vicar comes to tea.
“She’s [Peta Credlin] what Liberals think of Margaret Thatcher. They picture her with a strap on, pounding away at their sorry arses,’’ Mr Muldoon wrote in one post.
Remember: this is an employee of the government whose PM pontificates that “Men have to be prepared to take responsibility for our actions and our attitudes. To educate our sons, to talk to our mates, to drive real change in the culture of our sporting clubs, our faith and community groups and our workplaces, including this workplace right here.”
He said, before he bragged about “shagging” Kylie Minogue and ‘joked’ about the Japanese PM’s “melons”.
Peta Credlin told news.com.au that the prime minister should take responsibility for his own Labor staffers.
“Is violent, sexual name-calling really the standard that the prime minister now accepts in his staffing ranks?” she said.
But Muldoon’s foaming bile against women (at least, conservative ones – you know: the ones without penises) is nothing compared to what he has to say about Jews and blacks.
Dave Sharma, who is not Jewish, was repeatedly denigrated as “Dave (the fake Jew)” and “the pretend Jew”.
Then Muldoon really went to Krazy Klan Town, telling Jacinta Nampijinpa Price:
“I am protected under 28a you nigger jew fag dog smoking liberal voter. X,’’ Mr Muldoon wrote.
Section 28A of the Sex Discrimination Act 1984 (Cth), defines sexual harassment as unwelcome conduct of a sexual nature where a reasonable person would anticipate the possibility that the target would be “offended, humiliated or intimidated”.
Price called it repulsive and noted the pattern: a prime minister who lectures Japan’s leader in sexist terms then parks his “appallingly sexist mate” on the public payroll. Preach decency on the podium; practice cronyism in the office. Muldoon is the exhibit.
None of this would have lasted 10 minutes if the target had been a Labor woman, an indigenous Yes campaigner or anyone the ABC has decided is sacred. A teenage girl says “ape” at the MCG and is hauled away and held in isolation for hours by the cops, while the nation’s chattering classes go ballistic. Muldoon spends years on the national broadcaster teaching toddlers the days of the week, then graduates to calling a conservative broadcaster a fetish and an Aboriginal senator a Nazi collaborator, and Labor’s first instinct is a job in a senator’s office.
They found the posts because he became a staffer. That’s the only reason they acted: because they got caught.
‘Standards’, Labor-style.
