A lot of people like to hate Taylor Swift, but that’s nothing on the apparent depth of loathing certain swivel-eyed followers of the Prophet have for the American songstress.
In part, the proximate trigger for the days of rioting that have gripped Britain were rumours that the ethnic Rwandan went on a stabbing rampage at a Taylor Swift-themed dance party. Whether this is true or not, the question remains why the murderer travelled specifically to that event.
Especially in light of the latest terror news.
Three Taylor Swift concerts in Vienna have been cancelled over an apparent plot to launch an attack on an event in the Vienna area, such as the concerts.
Gotta love that “apparent”. Especially in light of the fact that would-be jihadis, who pledged allegiance to ISIS, were arrested for planning the attack.
Swift was scheduled to play at the Austrian capital’s Ernst Happel Stadium on Thursday, Friday and Saturday as part of her Eras Tour.
“With confirmation from government officials of a planned terrorist attack at Ernst Happel Stadium, we have no choice but to cancel the three scheduled shows for everyone’s safety,” event organiser Barracuda Music said in a post on Instagram […]
The 19-year-old main suspect was arrested in Ternitz, south of Vienna, and the second person in the Austrian capital.
Public security director at Austria's interior ministry Franz Ruf said that authorities were aware of “preparatory actions” for a possible attack.
“During our investigations, we identified preparatory actions and noted that the 19-year-old suspect had a particular focus on the Taylor Swift concerts in Vienna,” Mr Ruf said, adding that the suspect, an Austrian citizen, had pledged allegiance to Islamic State.
An “Austrian citizen”, eh? No doubt as Austrian as wiener schnitzel, strudel and Adolf Hitler.
Why a “particular focus” on Taylor Swift?
Certainly, ISIS, as Islamic fundamentalists are wont, are no fans of Western pop music. During their brief caliphate, they were known to execute teenagers caught listening to pop music.
At the same time, pop concerts packed with little girls are a prime target for slavering Islamic neanderthals. Remember the slaughter at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester.
On the other hand, fundamentalist Muslims were outraged, last year, when a Taylor Swift-linked X account posted a tweet featuring an Islamic crescent-and-star emoji. Why did they use Islamic emoji to promote her music video where she is naked? scowled one Muslim account. She is a really nasty woman. That the account in question is a fan account didn’t matter, as other Muslim accounts called it “Taylor Swift’s official account” (it appears not to be).
The Austrian citizen is believed to have become radicalised on the internet.
Police searched the residence of one of the suspects in Ternitz, Lower Austria, and are analysing items from the home.
Mr Ruf said that chemical substances were secured and were being evaluated.
He didn’t give more details.
The cancellation came hours after authorities said security measures for the Swift concerts would be stepped up.
Mr Ruf said that there would be a special focus among other things on entry checks and concertgoers should plan a bit more time.
Vienna police chief Gerhard Pürstl said at the same time that, while any concrete danger had been minimised, an abstract risk justified raising security.
