As Australian PM Anthony Albanese beclowns himself and shames his country by rushing to ‘recognise’ a ‘Palestinian state’, it should surprise no one that neither Albanese, his repugnant foreign minister and factional colleague Penny Wong, nor a single member of his cabinet, has deigned to watch the horrifying October 7 footage. Indeed, when Wong was finally dragged, kicking and screaming, to visit Israel, she pointedly refused to visit the massacre sites.
After all, it’s easier to cheer-squad for Hamas from a position of blasé obliviousness. The ‘pro-Palestine’ lobby, as Douglas Murray observed, is characterised by nothing if not passionate ignorance. Even when the legacy admitted that its ‘starvation’ photos were fake news, the pallywankers physically attacked their offices in fury.
These are people who not only don’t know what they’re blithering about – they don’t want to know. US President Donald Trump is having none of it.
The terrorist organization “can’t stay” in Gaza, said the US leader, adding, “I have one thing to say: remember Oct 7, remember Oct 7,” referring to the Oct 7, 2023 Hamas invasion of southern Israel.
In fact, the pallywankers are so determined not to remember October 7 that they’re censoring any mention of it, on the flimsiest pretext.
The film, “The Road Between Us: The Ultimate Rescue,” tells the story of retired Israel Defense Forces Gen Noam Tibon who waded into the slaughter pit that was kibbutz Nahal Oz to rescue those he could and fight back against Hamas terrorists as they slaughtered civilians.
It had been scheduled to be shown at the Toronto International Film Festival, but was scratched.
Why did they ban a showing of the worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust.
Hold on to your jaws, folks: because they didn’t ask the terrorists’ permission.
A report in the Jerusalem Post, citing sources from Israel’s KAN News, said the major issue was that the filmmakers “did not receive permission to use Hamas videos from their owners [the Nukhba terrorists] … because of these copyright issues, the filmmakers were required to indemnify the festival in case of a lawsuit”.
Gee, I hope somebody thought to ask the Nazis’ permission to screen footage from the Theresienstadt propaganda film.
Being the weaselly leftists they are, of course, the festival organisers tried to hide behind a wall of mealy mouthed waffle.
A statement from the festival framed the circumstances this way, according to Deadline: “The invitation for the Canadian documentary film ‘The Road Between Us: The Ultimate Rescue’ was withdrawn by TIFF because general requirements for inclusion in the festival, and conditions that were requested when the film was initially invited, were not met, including legal clearance of all footage.”
“The purpose of the requested conditions was to protect TIFF from legal implications and to allow TIFF to manage and mitigate anticipated and known risks around the screening of a film about highly sensitive subject matter, including potential threat of significant disruption,” the statement continued.
In other words, people might inadvertently notice exactly what the left’s beloved ‘Palestinians’ actually did.
That, and the organisers are terrified that the ‘peace’ protesters will erupt into unhinged violence.
The filmmakers fired back, saying, “We are shocked and saddened that a venerable film festival has defied its mission and censored its own programming by refusing this film” […]
Others leaped into the fray and condemned the festival for banning a film that used Hamas footage that had already been widely released, according to the Jerusalem Post, with social media posters saying the action was “outrageous” and “despicable,” adding “TIFF chose cowardice.”
“It is unconscionable that TIFF is allowing a small mob of extremists – who use intimidation and threats of violence – to dictate what films Canadians can see at the festival,” said Noah Shack, the CEO of Canada’s Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs.
If nothing else, it’s an object lesson to Jewish communities in Western that while they’ve been long-standing and generous supporters of the arts community, the arts community needed little excuse to show just how much they secretly hated Jews all along. Just ask Clammy Fraud and her ‘Jew-list’ circulating chums.
