In these “modern times”, there is hell to pay if someone puts on black face, wears an American Indian headdress, adorns themselves with facial tattoos (if not of indigenous origin), or plays the part of someone who is not of the same ethnicity in a movie.

But if you dress up in Victorian suits, wearing an Englishman’s top hat, and an American cowboy’s Stetson hat apparently it is all A-OK?

People are people. I’m not offended or outraged. It won’t be me making a complaint to the race relations conciliator or screaming “Cultural Appropriation” on the 6 pm news, but this meme will have to do instead.

Maybe they will see it and think about it the next time they are so deeply “offended” about someone else’s “cultural appropriation”?
