This Government Is Not My Only Problem

Of late, most evenings I have established a trilogy of TV viewing. First up is The Chase which just confirms how dead from the neck up I am. Then the news, which confirms how infantile I am and finally Master Chef which definitely confirms my culinary skills are scarce. For me, when it comes to “taking food to the next level”, it is turning a boiled potato into a mashed potato. But be that as it may, the one thing that infuriates me is the judge’s insistence that unless a steak is served rare, it is a fail.

Since when does the amount of blood that remains in a dead cow determine its palatableness? I have always been a medium to well-done consumer, much to many a chef’s exasperation. And I think I know why. They have never learnt how to prepare it thus. It is usually delivered rare or burnt to a cinder. Why should I be forced to consume my steak to the chef’s taste and not my own? If that’s all I had to worry about!

Just how pathetic is this Labour Government? Yet again this week we were exposed to their assemblage of bumbling fools who were paraded before us completely oblivious to the insanity of their narrative. Kelvin Davis continues to prove that a command of oral skills is unnecessary should one choose a political career. “You’re a silly goose” Michael Woods has been referred to the Privileges Committee for failing to disclose conflicts of interest. I know not one person in his electorate would have referred to him as a “silly goose”. That is his own phraseology of yet again minimising his conduct. A child can be a silly goose; a Cabinet Minister who has access to billions of taxpayers’ dollars and stuffs up is a dead goose.

Kiri Allan is now attending an anger management course and Chris Hipkins is “getting tough on crime” as an afterthought that has just occurred to him. Grant Robertson blamed international circumstances as having a major impact on inflation, which was therefore out of his Government’s control, but when the international circumstances improved Robertson claimed it was his fiscal management that was responsible. He is never the cause but always the cure. What a joke. But I will still order my steak medium to well done and I will still get it served rare or burnt to cinders. Do you still think this government is my only problem?
