As I wrote recently, the true face of evil is not a cackling, hand-rubbing cartoon super-villain: the true face of evil is smug, self-righteous and utterly assured of its assumed moral superiority. Case in point: the smirking, self-satisfied parade of tilty-heads leading the anti-Semitic march across the Sydney Harbour Bridge last month – while convicted Muslim terrorists hoisted the ISIS flag above them.
As the great Jim Goad puts it: “The modern left’s heads are so far up their own asses with the idea that they are unimpeachably good, I suspect they may all soon suffocate to death. Or maybe that’s simply wishful thinking.” It’s not exactly a modern thing, either: back in the ’30s, George Orwell took aim at the “high-minded Socialist slum-visitor”, and their snobbish assumptions of their moral superiority to “‘them’, the Lower Orders”.
They’re at it in droves in the US lately. And, as they always do, they’re clutching their pearls for the worst people.
NBC Washington reporter Aimee Cho posted on X: “BREAKING: Just saw DC Police + federal agents detain a man on the National Mall. He appeared to try to escape, then was quickly tackled to the ground by several agents + was screaming in Spanish ‘please, I’m not a criminal, I work here, I want to be with my family’” – @AimeeCho4
Of course the idiot chorus of low-information tilty-heads started screeching like demented parrots.
The Five cohost Jessica Tarlov also posted the clip, commenting: “This doesn’t make DC safer. It’ll just make people not want to come to DC. The cruelty is always the point” […] Latin America correspondent for the Wall Street Journal Jose de Cordoba replied to the post, saying “Enjoy Washington.”

The Department of Homeland Security directly replied to Cho’s post, saying: “This illegal alien from Mexico was previously arrested in January 2024 in Fairfax County for aggravated sexual assault of a child under 13.”
“He entered and had a final order of removal and chose to voluntary return – twice. Illegally entered three times. Thank you to law enforcement for getting him off of Washington DC’s streets.” – said the DHS.
Federal officials say the man is named David Perez-Teofani.
Cue frantic deletion of tweets. At least they had the decency to feel a modicum of shame. Others aren’t nearly so self-aware.
An illegal immigrant who is wanted for child rape in Italy was able to escape arrest after anti-ICE activists alerted him to the whereabout of immigration enforcement agents.
ICE Denver posted on X, “This morning ICE & [Denver FBI] were attempting to arrest Jose Reyes Leon-Deras, a criminal alien from El Salvador who is convicted of and wanted for child rape in Italy. During our surveillance of Leon, members of Colorado Rapid Response arrived on scene and alerted him to law enforcements’ presence which allowed him to escape arrest.”
There’s plenty more where he came from.
On Tuesday morning, federal immigration authorities, led by ICE and supported by the FBI, DEA, ATF, and Coast Guard, swept through Nantucket, Massachusetts, detaining and deporting at least 12 individuals illegally residing in the country.
This operation was part of a larger federal sweep that also included Martha’s Vineyard and Hyannis, resulting in 40 total arrests. According to ICE, among those apprehended were a known MS-13 gang member and at least one convicted child sex offender.
Then there’s this charmer.
