The beauty of an early morning historical post is that the date can mean the event happened today “our time” or today “other side of the world” time.

June 21
1964: The Beatles land at Wellington airport for the start of their “Far-East” tour. 7000 hysterical fans greeted the fab four at the airport and crowds besieged them at their hotel. They played concerts in Wellington, Auckland, Christchurch and Dunedin.
1675: Christoper Wren begins work to rebuild St Paul’s Cathedral in London after it’s damage during the Great Fire.
1919: The German navy, feeling betrayed by the terms of the Treaty of Versailles scuttles most of its ships interned at Great Britains Scarpa Flow Naval Base in the Orkney Islands.
1788: The US Constitution is ratified when New Hampshire becomes the ninth and last necessary state to ratify the document, thereby making it law.
