Impaired cognitive function seems to be rife in the Democratic party. This terrible affliction infesting America’s major left-wing party starts at the top, with Joe Biden barely able to recognise his own wife or the words of the Declaration of Independence. Even the youngest party members aren’t spared, as the clearly intellectually impaired Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez repeatedly demonstrates.
Then there’s poor old Bill de Blasio. This is the fellow who, after all, stood amongst a crowd of Cuban exiles and shouted a famous revolutionary phrase of communist leader Che Guevara. Which is somewhat akin to addressing a crowd in Brooklyn and advising them that “Arbeit mach frei”.
Another Democrat, John Kerry, was famously confused when he learned that a detainee he’d recently freed from Guantanamo Bay had, perplexingly, gone right back to recruiting for Al Qaeda. “He’s not supposed to be doing that,” Kerry mumbled in bewilderment.
Bill de Blasio is similarly dumbfounded that criminals, well, commit crimes.
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said Monday it is “unconscionable” that criminals released early from prison over coronavirus fears would commit new crimes.
“I think it’s unconscionable just on a human level that folks were shown mercy and this is what some of them have done,” de Blasio told reporters during a briefing Monday, according to the New York Post[…]
De Blasio’s comments follow news from over the weekend that at least 50 inmates who were released early have reoffended and landed back in jail — with some already being readmitted into society again.
That’s right – Mayor Bill turned free more than a thousand criminals for no other reason that they might get sick in prison (this, just three weeks after de Blasio was urging New Yorkers to “go out on the town” despite the virus) and now he’s astonished that some of them went right back to doing what they do.
Conservative political analyst Ben Shapiro wrote: “De Blasio being surprised that criminals commit crimes is just pure 100% uncut De Blasio.”
The Washington Free Beacon’s Brent Scher added: “It’s almost like we had them in prison for a reason!”
The Police Benevolent Association of the City of New York, which represents over 50,000 active duty and retired police officers, also joined the chorus of those slamming the mayor.
“Unconscionable? What did you think would happen @NYCMayor?”
Now to rub salt into poor, confused Bill’s wounds, hateful trolls are flooding his snitch hotline with…ahem, inappropriate content. De Blasio recently unveiled a special text and app service that people could use to send photos of people allegedly not following social distancing guidelines.
Faster than you can say “Boaty McBoatface”, exactly what you would expect happened.
People reacted to the launch of Mayor Bill de Blasio’s coronavirus snitch hotline by flooding it with dick pics and Hitler memes.
[…]it was deluged by trolls seeking to stick the figurative middle finger up at the Stasi-like nature of the hotline.
“An NYPD source said that “dick pic” photos of real penises have also been texted to 311, and a caller phoned in a tip that de Blasio was seen performing oral sex on someone “in an alleyway behind a 7-11 early Sunday,” reports the New York Post.
Another individual sent a meme of Adolph Hitler along with the words, “TO THOSE TURNING IN YOUR NEIGHBORS AND LOCAL BUSINESSES — YOU DID THE REICH THING.”
Well, that’s just mean. They shouldn’t be doing that.
I would certainly hope that no-one does the same thing to New Zealand’s own snitch hotline.
