Trump and Farage Leading the Charge

The left have a huge problem to solve and it is a problem entirely of their own making.

There is a seismic shift happening in global politics. This phenomenon has been gathering steam over the last couple of years. It has been most apparent in European politics but more recently it has been gaining momentum in both the American and British political landscapes. In the latter cases, the two people mainly responsible for their country’s change of direction are Donald Trump and Nigel Farage.

These two men have built up a relationship since Trump came to power in 2016. In the recent American election, Farage crossed the Atlantic to campaign for Trump. They have much in common. Neither could be called a politician in the true sense of the word. Both were born into wealthy families and they are both dealmakers, Nigel as a commodities trader and Donald through his business operations. Both have attracted broad support from potential voters.

What is it that makes these two attractive to the voting public? Is it in terms of their unreserved personalities (which are a turn-off to some) or is it the policies they are offering. In my view it is something of both. They are both very good at the art of communication. While not your typical politicians, they possess great political instincts and by not being ruled by ideology they can make full use of this ability.

Have they come along at the right time? Both have been in the political game for some time; however, in the context of the political change that is taking place in their respective countries, the answer is a definite yes. They are in tune with the wishes of the people.

A woke agenda is not in their playbook. They are against the diversity, equality and inclusion nonsense. Both adhere to the principle of not allowing men in women’s sports. Free speech is high on their list of priorities. They are in favour of a back-to-basics school curriculum. Both support pro-life and religious freedom and are suspicious of the climate change narrative.

They both want to make their respective countries great again. Lower taxes, drill baby drill, job creation and ensuring people have the ability to succeed are all part of their economic agenda. All these things are the ingredients that go to putting a country on the path to freedom, peace and prosperity.

This is where they are finding empathy with the voters. This is why they are so popular. They are giving the people what they want. People are sick of left-wing dictatorships telling them how to live their lives, burdening them with excessive taxes, not allowing parents to have a say in their child’s education and inflicting divisions in society in every way imaginable. Divide and rule is not what the people want.

So, to an extent, it is their personalities and their ability to communicate their messages in a way that the public understands, but I think more importantly it’s the policies they are offering. They are resonating with the voters. The things they want are the same things the people want.

Their party organisations are also contributing to their success. These organisations are being run by people who also have business acumen. They are slick operations and those involved possess good skills when it comes to managing the day-to-day operations and also fundraising for the party. Reform have gone from having few party offices around the country to now having 400.

This is a far cry from the ham-fisted ideologues on the left: most of them are career politicians totally immersed in the political swamps that exist in Washington and London. They will do anything they can to hold on to power. Divide, conquer and punish is their game plan. The politics of envy. Donald Trump is testament to that.

Voters are giving the left the thumbs down and turning to the more aspirational policies of the right. Both the Republican Party and Reform are attracting large numbers of voters in the younger demographic. These young people are looking for hope and an escape from the straightjacket policies of the left.

America, Britain and large parts of Europe are in the right-wing camp. Canada will join them following their election due in a few months. Woke little Justin Trudeau has reigned amid accusations he might not be that just. France could follow at the first opportunity. Germany is on the brink and Australia appears poised to go the same way.

The left have a huge problem to solve and it is a problem entirely of their own making. The only way out is ideological change and I don’t see that happening anytime soon, if ever. Soros, Gates and others of their ilk, including the media, must be having palpitations observing what is going on. Gates has already made a trip to Mar-a-Lago as has Mark Zuckerberg.

The left being unable to resile from their ideology means shackles, chains and decades in opposition. From a right-wing perspective: in the words of a well-known hymn, Blessed Be the Ties That Bind. The left have doomed themselves to irrelevancy. Long may that be the case.
