Trump’s Strategy with Iran: Confrontation Using Economic Sanctions

The BFD. FOD AP Revolutionary Guard General Qasem Soleimani was killed by a US airstrike in Iraq.

Trump’s response to the Iranian attack was not the action of “orange man bad’s” finger poised above the armed rocket button, it was a calculated and ballsy response to provocation.

Stemming the Iranian push for nuclear weaponry was handled by Obama with appeasement – which didn’t work. The Iran Treaty merely pushed the Iranian development underground. It didn’t stop nuclear weapons development at all.

Appeasement is not Trump’s way. As a masterful negotiator Trump enters into dialogue with the enemy only from a position of strength. He plays the long game.

Immediately after he took office, Trump beefed up US military forces and weaponry, drawing accusations from his enemies that he is a warmonger. Trump proved his critics wrong this week by showing great restraint.

When Trump assassinated Soleimani his accusers said it was to start a war with Iran – despite his showing much restraint over Iranian’s blowing up Saudi oil tankers last year.

Instead of military reprisals, Trump chose to step up economic sanctions against Iran but warned them that a further strike would be met with a large show of US military strength. 52 targets were chosen, but Trump is not unreasonable, the Iranians asked that he avoid cultural targets and Trump agreed.

Most Democrats don’t have a clue about Trump. Their attitude toward him ranges from the idiotic to the downright lies.

This from Democrat Sen. Ihan Omar talking after the US House briefing on the Soleimani assassination. Omar is a mouthpiece of the squad: she is the mentally defective relative sent in to argue the case you know you can’t win – but worth it for media coverage by the equally ignorant media.

“He [Trump] has been itching to go to war with Iran And this is a fire man who has […] who is an arsonist and a fire man.

He starts a crisis, then he wants to create the appearance of wanting to solve it. He’s done that here. Our ability to fight ISIS has also been eroded because of the suspension of the Iranian nuclear deal.

The occupant of the White House has not done a single thing to stabilise the region, he has done everything to create more tension. We are no more safer today than we were yesterday.”

Lies, lies and more lies from a member of the rogue Dems squad. The man responsible for terrorist attacks was Soleimani. He started this and Trump ended it.

If Trump was a warmonger why did he turn down the opportunity to start a war with Iran? If Trump’s critics had any brains or any idea of the measure of the man, they would have backed off and shut up already.

Iran’s attack on Iraq was simply to save face with Iranians back home with elections next month. Khamenei has been steadily losing popularity but likes to at least pretend the military regime is democratically elected. The strikes caused minimal damage and they were careful to choose unmanned targets that did not kill Americans. Having obtained PR footage for the masses back home, Iran’s foreign minister said Iran has “finished its retaliation and doesn’t want any more escalation or war”.

Contrary to Ilhan’s lies, Trump has stabilised the Middle East and protected Americans and others from Soleimani’s terrorist attacks, and Iran might think twice about continuing to develop its nuclear arsenal – giving the rest of the world something to be grateful for.
