TVNZ & Stuff: Cash for Content Scandal

Back in 2014 Nicky Hager wrote a book called Dirty Politics. In it, he accused me of having journalists in my back pocket and also accused me of “cash for content” activities. He was entirely wrong about that. But now a real “cash for content” scandal has erupted that threatens to engulf TVNZ and, unlike with Nicky Hager, there is actual proof of the accusations.

Worse still for the mainstream media, is that it has erupted all over X, formerly known as Twitter, and it is being shared far and wide.

Pseudonymous lawyer Thomas Cranmer is doing God’s work in exposing just how deep the corruption of our media has been from this Labour Government.

Stuff is also implicated in the “cash for content scandal”:

I await, with bated breath, for Nicky Hager to come out and comment on this appearance that Stuff and TVNZ have sold their editorial soul for a few corrupted dollars.

If an allegation from Dirty Politics was headline news for weeks on end, even when it wasn’t true, then what should ensue from this is howls of outrage.

If Stuff and TVNZ are implicated, what other media outlets are also compromised? Who else is implicated? We know that John Campbell is in the gun; remember his unctuous deliberations on Dirty Politics? What has he got to say now?

The mainstream media have been caught pants down here; there is no trouser leg for them to reverse ferret. How on earth are they going to explain away this abrogation of their role as the Fourth Estate?
