This brings us back to Winston Peters.
At 20 per cent, he is no longer simply the kingmaker. He becomes the axis around which the government turns. Every major decision – economic, constitutional, social – would carry his imprint.
For some, that will be reassuring. For others, deeply unsettling.
But either way, it would mark a turning point in winning our country back.
