It appears little is happening in New Zealand at the moment other than Northland, Auckland and surrounding regions affected by the Cyclone Gabrielle. As of 9pm last night, it was reported that 23,000 homes were without power. Northpower says repairing infrastructure may not be possible until the winds abate and so some may be without power for several days.

If you’re affected and have connectivity, share your stories and photos below.

For those not affected by this event, here’s a cool interactive site where you can monitor the world’s wind, ocean currents, sea depth and more by hitting the small “earth” logo on the bottom left of the page. https://earth.nullschool.net/. Enjoy.

Discuss it on The BFD.
