We’ve Hit Another Housing Milestone

Labour Campaigns Team

In 1937, Labour built the first state house, and since then our Party has worked tirelessly to provide more public housing, so more New Zealand families have a place to call home.

Today, we hit another massive milestone in our public housing programme, and we wanted to make sure you heard about it: This means 8,000 more Kiwi families have a place to call home, and it means we’re on track to reach our goal of more than 18,000 additional public and transitional housing places by 2024.

Will you help us spread the news by sharing our graphic?

We believe everyone deserves a warm, dry place to live, and our work to build more public houses is just one way to make this a reality. From speeding up new housing developments to making renting fairer and healthier, we’re taking action on housing as we continue our work to secure our COVID recovery.

There’s no quick fix to New Zealand’s housing issues, but we’re really proud of the progress Labour has made so far. The next steps in our housing plan are already under way, and we’ll keep you updated on all that we’re doing.

In the meantime, will you help us share today’s news?

Thanks,
Labour Campaigns Team

P.S. In case you missed it, figures released this week show our plan to get more people into jobs is working, with unemployment dropping to 4%. Find out more here.
